Obama's HealthScare Plan - A National Disaster

As a business owner, I recently sat through a presentation concerning the implications of Socialist President Obama's HealthScare Plan on our company. First, we are anticipating a 20 - 40% increase in our insurance premiums in 2011 as a result of all the mandates in this new law. This is unsustainable in the current economic environment. We cannot pass this cost increase on to our clients. The end result is that we will have to cut benefits and raise the percentage our employees must pay of the insurance premium. The alternative would be laying off employees, or moving more jobs overseas to avoid ObamaCare altogether. These are the options we will consider in the next few months related to 2011.

The real national disaster comes in 2012 - 2014 when all the requirements of Obama's HealthScare Plan really kick in. Based on the information we received, it is anticipated that the insurance premium for an employee and family will jump to more than $21,000 by 2014. No small business can absorb that expense. What will probably occur is that we will determine what we can afford and all other costs will be passed on to our employees. This means that an employee with family may be paying $12,000 or more for health insurance by 2014 at a time when wages are stagnant.

Ironically, many employees will have to choose between buying medical insurance, or paying their mortgages and or food for their families because this burden will not be feasible for many families. Instead, they will opt to go without medical insurance by paying the minimal penalty required by the federal government. So to provide medical insurance for the 30 million uninsured and potentially 12 million illegal aliens, that have no medical insurance, many who have insurance now may end up with none. What is wrong with this picture? The reality is that Obama's HealthScare Plan is really about redistribution of income, growing goverment and losing our freedoms. HealthScare has nothing to do with cost control or real health care reform.

In addition, in the next few years, companies will be required to track total family income, in order to withhold certain taxes due under Obama's HealthScare Plan, which is an incredible invasion of privacy. I would assume companies will have to require copies of tax returns to verify this information. As a result of the bureaucratic administrative burden that companies will incur if they do provide medical insurance for their employees, many companies will just just opt out entirely by paying a fine to the government because it is much less expensive than providing employer sponsored medical insurance.

If that happens, the employee will have to go to state insurance exchanges to buy their own medical insurance presumably with no employer contribution with after tax money. Lower income employees, Obama's PEEP's, will receive a government subsidy; but the average two income earner family will not qualify for a subsidy. So again, families will face annual medical insurance premiums of $10,000 - $25,000 depending on the level of coverage they choose. Again, many families will go without medical insurance and just pay the fine because they will not be able to afford these insurance premiums.

Socialist President Obama's HealthScare Plan is a National Disaster that must be REPEALED. We all have to stand up and just say HELL NO in November when we go to the polls. We must take back our country in 2010 and 2012 by electing Conservatives who support free market capitalism, limited government, lower taxes and less regulation, a balanced budget, term limits, real energy independence and health care reform, a strong national defense, including securing our border and fighting Terrorism, the right to bear arms, the sanctity of life and family values. This is the winning platform supported by the majority of the American people and the only way to restore economic growth and job creation in the United States.

Most important, we must sweep these Socialists out of office by electing Conservatives in 2010 and 2012 who support the Constitution, as written by our Founding Fathers, not as contrived by the left wing media, Socialists Obama, Reid, Pelosi, former Presidents, Congresses, or the Courts. We must take back our country in 2010 and 2012 by making Obama a one term President. We can do it. We must do it to preserve our freedoms, our nation and way of life and for the good of our children and grandchildren.
