Jobs, Energy Independence & National Security

The most recent jobs report came out and we just had the highest number of claims for unemployment benefits in 9 months at 500,000 Americans requesting benefits. The recession is getting worse not better because Obama's economic policies are failing. Rather than enact Socialist President Obama's CAP & TAX legislation that would raise the cost of energy for all Americans, push more jobs overseas, and result in a lower standard of living for our people, it is time that we get serious about developing real energy independence to create jobs in America.

This is a NATIONAL SECURITY issue because we cannot be dependent on nation's that hate the United States. In addition, producing our own energy is critical to job creation in our country. Energy related jobs are high paying and they cannot be outsourced to other countries. This means pushing the Environmental Wackos aside and rejecting Socialist schemes, designed to tax carbon based energy sources making them prohibitively expensive to make wind and solar economically feasible, which is just not the case today without major government subsidies. This Socialist scheme is just plain crazy and destructive.

Instead, we need a common sense 50 year energy plan and NOW, which recognizes that we must develop all energy sources that are plentiful in the United States, including nuclear, clean coal, natural gas and oil shale. And YES, we must drill for oil where it exists. I know, I know, we just had a major oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico that is being used as an excuse not to drill. However, there has been drilling in the Gulf for more than 50 years with no incident. The lesson to be learned from the Gulf spill is better contingency planning in case of accident, not less drilling.

All current, economically feasible, energy sources can be exploited in environmentally safe ways; however, all must recognize that protecting our National Security often requires risks. We should do everything we can to mitigate those risks; but at the end of the day, energy is the key to National Security, our standard of living, economic growth and super power status. We need a bridge to future technologies that may be 50 years away and that bridge can only be current energy sources that are economically feasible today.

President Obama and the Socialists that control Congress are in bed with the Environmental Wackos, making it impossible for them to act responsibly related to energy development. In order to once again create jobs and grow our economy, rather than making energy more expensive, which will occur if CAP & TAX is enacted into law, we need to make energy more plentiful to drive down the cost to the consumer. The only way to do that is to speed up development of all energy sources, while at the same time government tax incentives are provided to develop wind, solar and bio fuels for the future. The fact is that we have to do it all to insure our National and Economic Security.

France derives most if its energy from nuclear power. For the most part, they do not have a spent nuclear fuels storage problem because they re-process 96% of spent nuclear fuels and sell them. China, now the second largest economy in the world, set to become the largest economy in the world within 12 years, if the US does not begin heading in the right direction, is developing all energy sources to support their economy. The United States must do the same if we are to remain a super power with a high standard of living for our people. This is about JOBS, JOBS, JOBS and common sense!!

Since the Socialists in Washington refuse to make the United States truly energy independent, we must sweep them out of office in 2010 and 2012 by electing Conservatives who support free market capitalism, limited government, lower taxes and less regulation, a balanced budget, term limits, REAL ENERGY INDEPENDENCE and health care reform, a strong national defense, that includes securing our border and fighting Terrorism, the right to bear arms, the sanctity of life and family values. This is the winning platform supported by the majority of the American people and the only way to restore economic growth and job creation in our country.

Most important, we must elect Conservatives in 2010 and 2012 who support the Constitution, as written by our Founding Fathers, not as contrived by the left wing media, Socialists Obama, Reid, Pelosi, former Presidents, Congresses, or the Courts. We must take back our country in 2010 and 2012. We can do it. We must do it to preserve our freedoms, our nation and way of life and for the sake of our children and grandchildren.
