The Federal Government Is Out Of Control

The US Constitution, as written by our Founding Fathers, was put in place to limit the power of the federal government to only those things that were better done at a national level. Clearly, the federal government should be in charge of our national defense, which includes securing our border, as a primary focus. It is best that we have one currency; the US Dollar to best facilitate commerce across state lines and a Federal Reserve to manage our money supply. Foreign policy is best managed by the federal government speaking for all Americans. It makes sense that the federal government manage the Post Office; though private services are clearly better. Building an integrated national highway system and managing airports to make certain that there is proper coordination of both is logical. Ensuring that our food supply is safe is important since food crosses state lines. The National Center for Disease Control is valuable since again viruses and germs can cross state lines.

All of these things are logical responsibilities of the federal government. But, somehow, some way, during the last hundred years, the federal government has grown way beyond our Founder's original intent. Politicians and the Courts have broadly interpreted to Commerce Clause of the Constitution to expand the powers of the federal government so much that Obama's HealthScare Plan is the final result. Today the federal government is involved in all aspects of daily life in one way or another and it is getting even worse under Socialist President Obama. We must all stand up and just say NO, NO, NO. We have had enough.

And, there is incredible duplication of effort and redundancy at every level of government, which is the reason our taxes are so high at all levels of government. Why do we need a federal Department of Education, when Education is a state function and every state has a Department of Education. The answer is simple. The federal Department of Education was created by President Carter, who at the time was being challenged by Senator Edward Kennedy for the Democrat Presidential nomination. In order to get votes and raise campaign funds, Carter created this unnecessary federal department as a pay off to the National Education Association, the nation's largest teacher's union. The same thing has happened over the years with most federal agencies.

Today the federal Department of Education with thousands of employees, serves no purpose and is completely redundant. If the federal government wants to fund education, Congress can simply provide block grants to the states, or even directly to school districts, without the need for a layer of federal bureaucracy. And or, if redundant federal departments are eliminated, federal taxes can be cut and the states can then determine how to apply local taxes to fund local services.

The federal Department of Education is just one blaring example of government bloat and waste that can and should be eliminated altogether along with many other federal government departments. Government that govern best is government that is closest to the people. We have local, county and state governments all in a better position to provide services for the American people because they are closest to them.

The federal government needs to get back to basics to stop the deficit spending and get the growing $13 Trillion debt under control. Like in any business in trouble, it is time to squeeze out redundancies at all levels of government. Of course, it will not happen because corrupt politicians in Washington will not give up their power and access to our money. These politicians are living off the fat of the land as they bankrupt our country. We The People must stand up and take back our country to stop the assault on our freedoms.

The federal government is out of control, particularly as managed by President Obama and the Socialists who control Congress. We have to take back our country in 2010 and 2012 by sweeping these Socialists out of office and electing Conservatives that support free market capitalism, limited government, lower taxes and less regulation, a balanced budget, term limits, a strong national defense including securing our border and fighting Terrorism, real energy independence and health care reform, the right to bear arms, the sanctity of life and family values. This is the winning platform supported by the majority of the American people and the only way to grow our economy and create jobs.

We have to take back our country in 2010 and 2012 by electing Conservatives who support the Constitution, as written by our Founding Fathers, not as contrived by the left wing media, Socialists Obama, Reid, Pelosi, former Presidents, Congresses, or the Courts. The federal government is out of control. We must take back our country to starve the beast and get the federal government back to basics. We can do it. We must do it to preserve our freedoms, our nation and for the sake of our children and grandchildren.
