Glenn Beck - Restoring Honor in America

Glenn Beck asked Americans to join him at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington DC on August 28, 2010 under the banner "Restoring Honor" in America and they came from all over the nation by the thousands. In fact, Americans of all races and ages came by the hundreds of thousands to honor the Special Operations Warriors Foundation, a group dedicated to our brave soldiers. The speeches during this event were inspiring including the speech made by Dr. Aveda King, the niece of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Coincidentally, August 28th is the 47th anniversary of the day Dr. King delivered his "I Have A Dream" speech that meant so much to so many people. Glenn Beck celebrated that anniversary better than might have otherwise been the case at the same spot where the speech was given on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial recognizing that we all should be "judged by the content of our character and not by the color of our skin".

Across town, others like Reverend Al Sharpton and those who live off the poverty and misery of the poor were also holding an event to honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Of course, their event was not particularly well attended probably because their left wing story of government dependence is old and tired and has been a road to no where for the poor in America. In spite of trillions of dollars being spent on public education and other social welfare programs since the beginning of Socialist President Lyndon Johnson's Great Society in 1965, many of the poor in America still have not learned to read. And, the drop out rate in the inner city is very high. There are many more African Americans in prison than in college. Clearly, while government dependence has been great for those who feed off it to get rich, nothing much has changed in the inner city except the demise of the African American family as most children are born to unwed mothers. It is truly a tragedy.

As a former history and government teacher, I appreciate and enjoy the history lessons Glenn Beck teaches every week on his Fox News show. Most of Beck's lessons are news to many Americans because left wing teachers and professors in public schools and universities teach Socialist ideology that often ignores the brilliance of our Founding Fathers, perhaps because they were all White Men and devout Christians. And, while people of all faiths and all races have made America what it is today, the fact is that our Founding Fathers were White and Christian. It is what it is.

Most important, the Declaration and Independence, written by Thomas Jefferson and the US Constitution, written by James Madison, our third and fourth Presidents were incredible documents that should be taught in detail, if nothing else is taught in school. But that often does not happen because left wing Socialists ignore the Constitution and find every way around it through Presidential Executive Order, Acts of Congress and Judicial decisions. We have to stop all of this and get back to the basics to restore our nation.

Socialists simply deny the truth. They worship at the feet of Socialist President Franklin Roosevelt teaching that Roosevelt saved our country and capitalism. The fact is that Roosevelt's Socialist New Deal economics prolonged the Great Depression, which lasted 11 years until the beginning of World War II. Socialist President Obama is using the Roosevelt playbook of bigger government, higher taxes, more regulation and deficit government spending to the same effect. Our economy is a mess as it was during the New Deal. We have high unemployment and record foreclosures and bankruptcies. The standard of living, under Obama, is falling in the United States. Why is that Socialists never learn the lessons of history even when faced with real numbers that tell the story. As they say, cards talk and numbers don't lie; but unfortunately Socialists like Obama, Reid and Pelosi do lie.

Watch Glenn Beck every day to get your history lesson to learn the truth. And, recognize that we must sweep these dishonest Socialists out of office in 2010 and 2012 to take back our country. The only way to do that is to elect Conservatives who support free market capitalism, limited government, lower taxes and less regulation, a balanced budget, term limits, real energy independence and health care reform, a strong national defense including securing our border and fighting Terrorism, the right to bear arms, the sanctity of life and family values. This is the platform supported by the majority of the American people and the only way to restore honor, economic growth and job creation in America.

Most important, we must elect Conservatives in 2010 and 2012, who have read and support the Constitution, as written by our Founding Fathers, not as contrived by the left wing media and public school teachers and professors, Socialists Obama, Reid, Pelosi, former Presidents, Congresses, or the Courts. We must take back our country in 2010 and 2012 to honor the message of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and provide opportunities for all Americans. We can do it. We must do it to preserve our freedoms, our nation and way of life and for the sake of our children and grandchildren.
