Tax Payer Protest in Washington DC

Several hundred thousand people attended the Tea Party Tax Payer Protest in Washington DC on September 12. I was very pleased to take part in this historic event. Patriots came from all over the United States with both professional and home made signs to protest against President Obama and the Democrat Socialists that control the US Congress. It was clear that protesters were vehemently against Obama's SwindleUS Package, Cap and Tax, the HealthScare Program, the bail out schemes and all the tax increases and trillions of dollars of deficit spending proposed by Obama that will bankrupt our nation.

President Obama is a Socialist. Obama wants to take money from the 50% of people in the United States that pay income taxes and give it to his Peeps that don't pay any income taxes at all using the Earned Income Tax Credit to make it happen. While we should care for the poor, those of us who pay income taxes do not believe in redistribution of income because it is both bad for the economy and debilitating for the people that get benefits making them wards of the state and slaves on the government plantation. The chants at the protest march, which began at 10:00 am and lasted until 4:00 pm, included calling the President a liar and yells like "We have had enough". In addition, since this protest was held at the foot of the Capitol building, many speakers kept yelling the question directed at the Congress and the President, "Can you hear us now" believing that our elected representatives are ignoring the will of the people.

This protest in Washington DC was one of many held in 45 states on September 12. Thousands of people all over the United States held their own Tea Bag Tax Payer Protests to try to get the message across that we are mad as hell and we are not going to take it any more. The symbol for our movement is the yellow flag with the snake insignia that was used during the Revolutionary War. The slogan on the flag, DON'T TREAD ON ME" was repeated over and over again at the protest march.

These September 12 Protest Marches across the country really mark the beginning of the 2010 election. We are going to take back our country first by re-gaining control of the US Congress and then by making sure that President Obama is a one term President. Obama wants to turn the United States into a Socialist nation. The lessons of history have taught us over and over again that Socialism leads to a loss of freedom, high unemployment, slow growth and a lower standard of living. As such, it is hard to understand how any intelligent person can support this failed ideology; yet that is what we face with the Democrat Socialists in power. Well Mr. President your Socialist vision for America is not our vision for America. Nor is it the America we want to leave to our children and grandchildren. This is not the change we can believe in, nor will we tolerate all of your schemes and shenanigans. Our soldiers are fighting for our freedom overseas. We will fight for our freedoms within our country. If we can't make the President and the Democrat Socialists see the light, we must make them feel the heat.
