Time To Open Yucca Mountain

Socialist President Obama and Senator Dirty Harry Reid of Nevada are doing everything they can to stop the use of Yucca Mountain, 130 miles from Las Vegas, from becoming the nation's nuclear waste repository.   Obama issued an Executive Order to discontinue the licensing process for Yucca Mountain on the basis of lack of "public acceptance" in complete disregard for the science concerning this project and various acts of Congress.  This has occurred after investing 25 years in this project and $15 Billion that came both from American taxpayers and utility company rate payers charged with paying for the development of Yucca.

Yucca Mountain sits on federal government property that is the size of the state of Rhode Island.   All six Nevada counties surrounding Yucca support continuation of the licensing process to determine if there truly are any remaining safety issues, which is just common sense given the investment of time and money.   Environmental wacko Secretary of Energy Steven Cho has stated that since there is not "public acceptance", meaning the wackos in Las Vegas, Yucca should be closed while the federal government spends another 50 years determining other suitable sites that will never happen.   It is important to note that Cho completely disbanded the agency of the Department of Energy that was charged with the research and development of a new nuclear repository.  This is a clear indication that the Obama Administration, as enemies to all energy production, except pie in the sky solar and wind capabilities, is out to destroy the nuclear power industry along with all carbon based energy sources.  Watch their actions not Obama's lying words.

We need a 50 year energy plan to make the United States energy independent and it must include nuclear, clean coal, oil and oil shale, natural gas and new technologies like wind, solar and bio fuels that are not yet economically feasible.   The good news is that the Republicans in the House of Representatives have included 35 million dollars in the next energy budget to keep Yucca alive and on life support.   But of course, Senator Dirty Harry Reid will do everything he can to kill it once it gets to the Senate.   Aside from the need for more energy development in the United States, the state of Nevada desperately needs the jobs that would come from the development of Yucca to diversify the state's economy.    And, we know now that the notion of nuclear waste is obsolete anyway.   Yucca can be used as a reprocessing site so that long term storage is really less of an issue.

Socialists and their environmental wacko supporters are job killers plain and simple.  Recent dismal news concerning rising unemployment is proof.  If allowed to do so, these characters will not only bankrupt our country, their actions will result in second class status for our nation and a lower standard of living for all Americans.  We can't let them succeed with all their Socialist Schemes.   WE THE PEOPLE must sweep these Socialists out of office in 2012 and 2014 by electing pro-growth, common sense Conservatives that support free market capitalism, limited government, lower taxes and less regulation, a balanced budget, term limits, real ENERGY, education and health care reform, a strong national defense, including securing our border and fighting Terrorism, the right to bear arms, the sanctity of life and family values that are the foundation of our nation.   This is the platform supported by the majority of the American people and the only way to restore economic growth and job creation in America.

It is time to open Yucca Mountain so that we can pursue safe nuclear energy as a feasible energy source.   President Obama's actions demonstrate that we have to take back our country in 2012 and 2014.  We can do it.   We must finish the job we started in 2010 to preserve our freedom, our nation and way of life for the sake of our children and grandchildren.   15% real unemployment is proof enough that we have to make Obama, who is killing our economy, a one term President.
