Environmental Protection Agency Sends $100 Million Overseas

The Environmental Protection Agency has provided a $100 million in grants to foreign countries in the last decade, $29 million of which was directed by Socialist President Obama since 2009 alone.  Of course, $100 million in Washington terms is chump change; but still our National Debt has ballooned to more than $14 trillion,  we just can't afford to be funding environmental wacko projects overseas.  The best part of this deal is that we gave China $718,000 to deal with their air pollution problem.   Russia got $7.6 million.   Ethiopia was given $191,638, that no doubt went into politicians pockets there, to study "clean cooking technology".   The Chinese hold about a trillion dollars of our National Debt.   So the federal government borrowed money from China, requiring interest and eventual repayment, at the same time we are giving them an EPA grant of $718,000.   This is insane.

What is wrong with this picture?   The President and his Socialists pals in Congress continue to call for higher taxes on the "rich" so that they can pay their "fair share" to continue this wasteful deficit spending.   The top 10% of income earners already pay 70% of all taxes in this country.  51% of Americans pay no income taxes at all.  While negotiations are going on to raise the National Debt ceiling several trillion dollars higher,  there are billions, if not trillions of dollars in cuts needed to balance the federal budget and finally end the deficit spending that is bankrupting our country.   Both Republicans and Socialists are just tinkering around the edges related to spending cuts.

Republican Congressman Paul Ryan has called for $6 trillion in cuts over the next ten years.   That will still mean another $5 trillion in deficit spending, borrowed from the Chinese and others that will be added to the current $14 trillion National Debt.   If Obama and the Socialist in Congress get their way, instead of adding $5 trillion to the National Debt in ten years, which is the Ryan Plan, they will add $12 trillion to the National Debt.   Of course, all of this is folly because the Markets will never tolerate either debt level.

The $100 million wasted by the Environmental Protection Agency in overseas grants is symthomatic of a much bigger problem.  Billions of dollars are wasted each year on redundant programs, agencies, commissions and cabinet departments and it is at all levels of government.   No one in government, from either political party, ever talks about complete elimination of any government function.  It is always a discussion about the level of growth that will be permitted when in fact, many of these programs, agencies, commissions and cabinet departments should be gone with the wind and eliminated altogether as the only way to balance the federal budget.

It is easy to get discouraged by all of this; but we can't give up.   WE THE PEOPLE must take back our country.   We must enact various Constitutional Amendments to get our country back on track.  Clearly, the Constitution must be amended to require a balanced budget, Congressional term limits, a clear definition of citizenship and additional checks and balances on federal spending.   Politicians will never make this happen themselves because it will reduce their power and ability to continue feeding at the trough.

WE THE PEOPLE must take back some of the powers we have delegated to our elected representatives because they have proven over and over again that they cannot be trusted to protect the interests of the American people.  We must take back our country by convening a Constitutional Convention.   We can do it.   We must do it to prevent the bankruptcy of our country and to preserve our freedom, our nation and way of life for the sake of our children and grandchildren.
