Closing Guantanamo Bay Prison - Why?

For reasons that make no sense, President Obama and his Democrat Socialist supporters are obsessed with closing Guantanamo Bay Prison, in Cuba, which was set up to hold captured war combatants and foreign Terrorists. The questions is why? A prison by any other name is still a prison if owned by the United States. It is true that if these Islamic Terrorists were in prison in most Islamic countries in the world, they would be in an unbelievable hell hole and/or they would have been executed long ago for their crimes and terrorist acts. In fact, Guantanamo Bay Prison is a Caribbean Resort compared to the prisons in many other countries. Guantanamo Bay is even much nicer than many older prisons in the US.

President Obama believes that Guantanamo is cruel and usual punishment. What a bunch of baloney! Obama must be referring to four months of humidity and bugs just like in Florida because otherwise, Guantanamo sits on a Caribbean island, that is a whole lot nicer than prisons in freezing and dreary winters in Michigan or Illinois. Obama sees Guanatanomo as torture so much so that he wants the US to spend hundreds of millions of dollars, which we will have to borrow from the Chinese, buying or building a maximum security prison in the US to hold Terrorists. Current prisons in the US in Michigan, Illinois and other states are under review to house these Terrorists. Obama promised to close Guantanamo by next January, which is not going to happen. Apparently, it is a lot harder being President that talking about it during a campaign. In any case, I just can't see what point there is in moving these Terrorists from one American prison, that happens to be off shore, to another American prison in the continental United States. This is just an emotional reaction by an inexperienced President that serves no purpose.

Ah, but Obama and the Democrat Socialists have an ulterior motive. Once these foreign Terrorists touch American soil, they will have all the rights of an American citizen, which will require that they be tried in federal courts rather than by Military Tribunals. Let's face it, this is about President Obama and Attorney General Holder being soft on Terrorists and nothing more. Democrat Socialists in general are soft on crime unless of course, it is an officially designated "hate crime" as though the murder of anyone is not a hate crime.

Putting the Terrorists responsible for 9/11 on trial in federal court in New York City is ridiculous. This will turn into a show trial and circus that will cost New York state and city and or the federal government, all of which are bankrupt, tens of millions of dollars for security. Foreign Terrorists captured in a war zone are enemy combatants that should be tried by a Military Tribunal. This is just common sense. To do otherwise is a threat to our national security. These Terrorists should remain in Guantanamo until their day in military court arrives. When oh when is President Obama going to realize that he is the Commander in Chief responsible for the security of the United States, not the rights of Terrorists or the people of other nations. We have to take back our country in the elections of 2010 and 2012. Obama is a clear and present danger to the people of the United States. This Socialist President is reckless and irresponsible. Every day Obama is in office, the danger to our nation on all fronts becomes more clear.
