Congress - Here They Go Again

In order to extend the 2% Payroll Tax cut for the remaining 10 months of the year, Republican Speaker of the House John Boehner has suggested since the Socialists will never agree to cut anything to pay for it, that they just do it without any way of funding it.  You may recall that the Republicans got snookered into approving a new tax on mortgages that will amount to $34 Billion over ten years to pay for just the first two months of the the Payroll Tax Cut in 2012.   This was one of the dumbest deals every to come out of Congress and that is saying a lot since so much that comes out of Congress is really dumb.   And, it looks like Republicans in Congress are going to be duped once again. 

We are fast approaching $16.2 Trillion dollars in National Debt with no end in sight.  The interest on our current National Debt, at very low interest rates today, is already $600 million a year.   When interest rates go up the cost of Obama's deficitd spending will skyrocket consuming more and more of our country's resources.  This is insane.  Our nation's credit rating has been downgraded for the first time in modern US history, as a result of Obama's annual trillion dollar plus budget deficits since taking office.  

So what is another $150 Billion for the Payroll Tax Cut for the rest of the year.   In Washington parlance, this is chump change.   So what that our illustrious elected representatives are stealing another $150 Billion from the Social Security Trust Fund when 10,000 Baby Boomers are retiring every day and Social Security is already facing bankruptcy.   Republicans and Socialists have been stealing our Social Security contributions since 1965 to win elections.   This is nothing new. 

The reality is that the Republicans are tired of getting beat up by Socialists always out to buy votes by taking care of their PEEP's, those that pay no income taxes at all, those on the dole, big unions, illegal aliens, trial lawyers, radical environmentalists and crony Capitalists all feeding at the trough.  And, this is an election year.   All politicians need to buy votes.

In this case, the average American family will get an additional $1,000 in take home pay for the rest of the year and we will add another $150 Billion to the National Debt; but who is counting.   The typical family will need this extra money because as a result of Obama's failed energy policy, analysts are now telling us that gasoline will be more than $4 a gallon in a few months.   Some are saying the price of gas may go up to $5 a gallon.  So why not just pay this money to Saudi Arabia to subsidize the price of gas.   The US will need to borrow this $150 Billion more from the Chinese to extend the Payroll Tax Cut and it will ultimately go to the Saudis and other countries in the Middle East that supply oil to our country.   Go figure.  

Tea Party Republicans and anyone with a brain in Congress needs to stand up and say NO to this Payroll Tax Cut unless they find the money to pay for it.  This Blogger continues to suggest cutting 500,000 federal civilian employees, out of the current 2.65 million, over the next five years, using normal attrition, not lay-off's as a painless way to make this happen.   Believe me, we won't miss any of them.  We won't even know that these federal employees are gone.  

While I don't expect big government Socialists to propose anything like this because many of the federal employees whose jobs should be eliminated belong to public employee unions, the real question is why are we not hearing this idea coming from Republicans.   It is just common sense given current levels of deficit spending and our growing National Debt. 

Instead,  this Blogger recently received an e-mail from my Congressman Republican Mark Amodei, who I worked to elect, justifying federal employee benefits that are significantly higher than what is typical in the private sector.  Congressman Amodei has just been there a few months; yet he has apparently already drunk the Cool Aide.   What is Amodei thinking?   Something obviously happens when our elected representatives, even supposed Conservatives get to Washington.  Maybe there is something in the water that turns them into Socialist Light legislators. 

We really do need to put on our hip boots to drain the swamp in Washington DC.  In doing so, we must sweep Socialists at all levels of government, including President Obama and RINO's that have lost their way, out of office to prevent the bankruptcy of our nation.  We can do it.   We must do it to preserve our freedom, our nation and way of life for the sake of our children and grandchildren. 

In the mean time, watch what happens in Washington in the next few weeks related to the Payroll Tax Cut.   Senator Dirty Harry Reid of Nevada, the Socialist Senate Majority Leader and Republican Speaker of the House John Boehner are going to cut a deal that will add another $150 Billion or more to our National Debt.   When we experience financial collapse, Socialist President Obama and all these characters should be arrested, tried and sent to jail for bankrupting our country.  Do they deserve any better treatment than Bernie Madhoff that perpetrated a $2 Billion scam, when the President and Members of Congress have implemented a multi-trillion scam in the last three years?
