Chrysler's Ad - Halftime In America

During the Super Bowl, Chrysler Corporation ran an ad, narrated by Clint Eastwood, entitled Halftime in America.   Many believe this commercial, which talked about a resurgent Detroit, was really an reelection commercial for Socialist President Obama, who implemented the bail out of both Chrysler and General Motors, at a cost of billions of dollars to the American taxpayer.

It is true that Obama took care of his PEEP's, the United Auto Workers Union, as Obama literally stole GM and Chrysler from their bond holders, the legitimate owners, and gave these companies to the Auto Union and in the case of Chrysler to Italian auto maker, FIAT.   American taxpayers lost billions of dollars in the Chrysler deal that we will never see again to benefit FIAT and the Auto Union.   FIAT stands for Fabrica Italiana A Torino, which translates to the Italian Factory in Turin, Italy.   Ironically, FIAT has threatened the Italian government, with ceasing auto manufacturing in Italy, their headquarters, as a result of Italian high taxes, regulations and union work rules.  

In the case of GM, which is now "profitable" because of the government bail out, GM still owes the American taxpayer $24 billion that we will probably never see again because GM stock would have to go to $53 a share, for us to get our money back; shares are currently at $26 a share.   The American taxpayer still owns 32% of GM so it really is Government Motors.  Obama's bail out of GM and Chrysler at taxpayer expense, using  borrowed money, which has contributed to the National Debt, was nothing more than a pay off to the Auto Union, also a big GM shareholder, at our expense.   This is Obama-Style Communism not Free Market Capitalism. 

The fact is that both GM and Chrysler should simply have been allowed to go bankrupt, which happened anyway, without any government intervention, to undergo reorganization.   Chrysler, a weak company for years, may have gone away; but that would have been all right because there is too much capacity in the auto industry.   It would have made Ford and GM stronger global companies in the end.  There was absolutely no need for government involvement; except for Obama's pay-off to the Auto Union.

Chrysler's ad in asserting that Detroit is back is really a joke.   Detroit has been a slum for years, full of crack houses and abandoned homes run by corrupt Socialists, feeding at the trough, that have bankrupted the city.   There is no economic resurgence in Detroit, a city that remains in fiscal disarray, with a $200 million budget deficit.   Things are so bad in Detroit that the state of Michigan will soon have to take over the city through some sort of receivership process.  

This Blogger previously proposed in a posting that the slums of Detroit be leveled and returned to an agriculture as an apple orchard and tourist attraction, kind of like Napa Valley in California.   And further, Detroit like other areas in the Mid West, sits on natural gas shale deposits that should be exploited to create jobs in Detroit and contribute to our nation's energy independence.   Of course, none of this will happen as long as Socialists are in control, feeding at the trough. 

Clint Eastwood was right in this Chrysler commercial.  It is Halftime In America.   Currently, 67 million Americans, a record number, get some kind of check from the federal government, as entitlements continue to grow under Socialist President Obama on the road to our nation's bankruptcy.   In fact, many who do not work, on average get a total of $32,000 in federal government benefits; so why work.  As a result, we are facing the bankruptcy of the United States.  

If Obama and his Socialist pals in Congress are reelected in 2012 and 2014, ultimately, we will lose our freedom and our national sovereignty.   If we don't prevent the bankruptcy of the United States, we will cease to be a free country, as our creditors eventually, either directly or indirectly, will take control of our country.  We can't let that happen. 

In the process, if we don't act to take back our country in 2012 and 2014 by sweeping these Socialists, at all levels of government, including President Obama out of office, we will end up as a big government, Socialist dictatorship.   George Orwell's 1984 with Big Brother in control of our lives will happen.   It is already happening as a result of 100 years of Socialist Creep.   Government is involved in every aspect of our lives.  It is Halftime in America and now WE THE PEOPLE must stand up to say NO More to preserve our freedom, or we will lose it; plain and simple.

We must take back our country in 2012 and 2014 by sweeping these Socialists, at all levels of government, including President Obama, that are bankrupting our country, out of office.   We must elect Conservatives that support free market capitalism, limited government, lower taxes and less regulations, a balanced budget, term limits, real education, energy, health care and entitlement reform, a strong national defense, including securing our border and fighting Terrorism, the right to bear arms, the sanctity of life and family values that are the foundation of our nation.   This is the only way to restore economic growth and jobs again in America. 

It is Halftime in America.   There is no time to waste.  We have to take back our country in 2012 and 2014 to preserve our freedom, our nation and way of life for the sake of our children and grandchildren.   We can do it.   We must do it save our nation, prevent economic chaos and to honor those that have given their lives to protect our freedom.
