France - Moving Back To Socialism

There is a pretty good chance that the people of France will elect their first Socialist President, in a few months, since Francois Mitterand was in office.   Polls show that Francois Hollande, the Socialist, will beat Conservative Nicolas Sarkozy.   Hollande is thought of as a Conservative Socialist because he is an Economist by education.   France is facing a huge National Debt as a result of unsustainable entitlements; so Hollande is promising to cut spending by $65 billion to balance the budget.  If elected, we will see if it ever happens.

However, Francois Hollande is a Socialist who calls for taxing the rich more and ending tax breaks for big business; though he is calling for tax cuts for small and midsize companies.   But, Hollande wants to spend more to hire teachers and police and spend more on housing and education.   Hollande wants to tax financial transactions.  The public finances of France are a mess.   Unemployment is near 10%, the budget deficit is at 5.5% of gross domestic product and the country recently lost their triple AAA debt rating.   Yet Hollande, like all Socialists, wants to raise the overall tax burden from 45.1% to 46.9%, both of which are job killers.

This Blogger does business in France with a small office there.   Employment laws are ridiculous.  France has a 35 hour work week.  Energy and cost of doing business in France are very high.  France has been a Socialist country for years, regardless of who is in office.  The end result is that foreign companies and perhaps French companies do all that they can to maintain the fewest number of employees in France possible because of high taxes and regulations and it is so costly to hire and fire employees in France.  All of this has caused high unemployment in France for years.   Socialists just don't get any of this because they live in a utopian dream world.

Does all of this sound familiar.   Francois Hollande, the French Socialist, likely to win election to the Presidency in France and Socialist President Obama are cut from the same suit.  These Socialists only know how to play Class Warfare to win elections pitting one group against all others.   The "rich", often defined as people making more than $200,000 a year, are milked through higher taxes to support entitlements that are unsustainable for people on the dole and those that pay no income taxes at all.   Unions that support Socialists demand work rules and employment laws that are job killers, which ultimately pushes more jobs out of country.

There is no such thing as a Conservative Socialist, whether in France, the United States, or any other country.   Socialists are job killers in business to take care of their PEEP's, those on the dole, those that pay no income taxes at all, radical environmentalists, trial lawyers, big unions and crony capitalists, all feeding at the trough at our expense.   Socialists always support bigger, more intrusive government, more entitlements and deficit spending to buy votes from their PEEP's.   It is what it is.

The people of France will regret returning a Socialist to their Presidency.  It will result in higher unemployment, a lower standard of living for their people and national bankruptcy; just wait and see.    If Socialist President Obama is reelected in 2012, we will see the same end result in the United States.   We can't let that happen.   We have to take back our country in 2012 and 2014 by sweeping Socialists, at all levels of government, including President Obama out of office to prevent the bankruptcy of our nation.

Instead, we must elect Conservatives committed to free market capitalism, limited government, lower taxes and less regulation, a balanced budget, term limits, real education, energy, health care and entitlement reform, a strong national defense, including securing our border and fighting Terrorism, the right to bear arms, the sanctity of life and the family as the foundation of our nation.  This is the platform supported by the majority of the American people and the only way to restore economic growth and job creation again in our county.  France should adopt this strategy, as well to end the malaise that has been there for years.

We have to take back our country in 2012 and 2014.   We can do it.  We must do it to preserve our freedom, our nation and way of life for the sake of our children and grandchildren.   We have to make Obama a one term President to prevent the bankruptcy of the United States.   We can't allow Obama to "transform" our country into a European style Socialist nation.   We see the end of that ugly story in Greece, Spain, Italy, Portugal and France and there is no happy ending.
