Watch C-SPAN - Intrusive Government In Action

While most Americans would probably prefer to watch a good football game to escape reality, this Blogger recommends that all Americans watch C-SPAN to see our federal government in action.   Once Congress officially opened its doors to television in 1979, C-SPAN began broadcasting Congressional Hearings and House and Senate Sessions.   Watching our federal government in action is not as much fun as watching the British Parliament for Prime Minister's Questions, when Members of Parliament hoot and shout insults at each other; but it is far more important.    

What you will see if you watch Congressional Hearings or House and Senate Sessions is a federal government out of control and so intrusive into our lives that virtually every aspect of life is a subject for legislation.   Pick a topic, any topic, your money, your business, your health care, your children, your house, your car, your energy purchases, your food, your cable TV or Internet, your telephone, your job, your employer, your church, or your state and on any given day, there is likely to be a Congressional Hearing, House or Senate Session where Congressman and Senators are sticking their noses into your life.  

Recently, this Blogger observed a Senate Committee Hearing, chaired by Socialist Senator Tom Harkin of Iowa concerning No Child Left Behind, the education legislation pushed by none other than former Socialist Senator Edward Kennedy and President George W Bush.   This Senate Committee was reviewing "improvements" to the law, which has done little or nothing to improve public schools.  So what we had were a bunch of Senators, of both political parties, many of whom are probably lawyers, that know nothing about public schools or education, discussing classroom details that would typically come up at a local school board meeting.   It was both ridiculous and scary.  

The federal government is out of control.   All three branches of government, the Congress, the Presidency and the Supreme Court, that are supposed to act as a check and balance against abuse of power on each other are instead a clear and present danger to the freedom of the American people.  The federal government has grown so big and intrusive during the "progressive" Socialist era in the last 100 years, that we no longer live in a free country governed by the Constitution that was designed to provide limited government by our Founders. 

Governor Rick Perry, Republican Nominee for President, got it right when he called for a part time Congress that meets every other year as happens in many states.   The fact is that every day Congress is in session is a threat to our freedom.   And, Presidential Executive Orders that are extra legal and often have no basis in the Constitution amount to dictatorial powers never intended by our Founders.  And finally, the Supreme Court over the years, has often used the Commerce Clause of the Constitution to disregard the Constitution entirely to support the welfare state and greater and greater intrusion into our lives. 

The end result is our $15 Trillion National Debt, a progressive tax system that is really designed to redistribute income in the name of "social justice",  discrimination against various classes of Americans,  frivolous litigation of all kinds, environmental wacko laws that are destroying our economy, public employee union collective bargaining that is bankrupting our nation and an assault on family values and our freedoms like never before. 

If you watch C-SPAN, you will see why we must take back our country in 2012 and 2014.  Government in action and business as usual is a threat to our nation, our freedom and our way of life.  We have to roll back 100 years of Socialist creep.   The only way to make that happen is to sweep Socialists, at all levels of government, including President Obama, out of office in 2012 and 2014.   These characters are a clear and present danger to our nation as bad as any foreign enemy.   ObamaCare is just the latest example of this federal government grab for power at our expense.

We have got to get back to Constitutional Limited Government as was intended by our Founding Fathers and was the basis for the American Revolution.   What we have today is a tyranny worse than any we faced under King George.   The fact that government is involved in every aspect of daily life is intolerable and unacceptable.   The ruling elite in Washington, feeding at the trough, is now the master and we are the slaves paying for their life style. 

We have to take back our country in 2012 and 2014 to shrink the size of the federal government, not only to cut costs to prevent the bankruptcy of our nation; but to preserve our freedom.   Bigger government, under Obama, is a threat to our freedom, plain and simple.   Various agencies like the Environmental Protection Agency and the National Labor Relations Board are the Gestapo operating under Presidential Executive Orders outside the law.  The Department of Education is reaching into the homes of Americans with children in public schools.   The Department of Health and Human Services will soon determine if we live or die.  The Energy Department is funding crony capitalism with bogus green loans and raising the cost of all energy by its actions.  

We could literally see a threat to our freedom from every agency, commission and department of the federal government as they seek to govern our lives.   We all have to stand up and say NO MORE.   We have had enough big government intrusion into our lives.   Many of these agencies, commission and departments must be eliminated, not only to save money, but to end the threat to our freedom.   We can do it.   We must do it in 2012 and 2014 to preserve our freedom, our nation and way of life for the sake of our children and grandchildren.   Just watch C-SPAN to get fired up.  Once you do, you will see why we must take back our country in 2012 and 2014.   Our freedom depends on it.
