US Congress Completely Dysfunctional

The United States Congress is completely dysfunctional.   The Senate, as managed by Socialist Senator Dirty Harry Reid of Nevada, the Majority Leader, has not enacted a budget in almost three years.   In essence, we have government by continuing resolution and Trillions in deficit spending that is bankrupting our country.   The House of Representatives, run by Republican Speaker of the House Congressman John Boehner, has been a bit more responsible by attempting to reign in spending and by enacting numerous bills to restore economic growth and create jobs, all of which are dead on arrival once they reach Harry Reid's desk.  None of those bills have even come up for a vote in the Senate because Dirty Harry refuses to let them see the light of day.

Though Republicans are attempting to cut spending, they just voted to extend unemployment benefits beyond the current 99 weeks, the longest in American history and the payroll tax cut, which will cost Billions of dollars presumably offset by other spending cuts, to be determined and or tax increases if the Socialists get their way.   The Socialists in Congress are only focused on growing entitlements and government and raising all kinds of taxes, not just taxes on the "rich", which they just did by creating a new 10 year tax on mortgages to pay for two months of a payroll tax cut.  

And, all of our elected Representatives of both political parties, including Socialist President Obama, are still in the business as usual mode when our country is facing bankruptcy.  Our National Debt will grow to $16.7 Trillion in the next 18 months with no end in sight.  HELLO!!   The US Congress is completely dysfunctional, which just demonstrates the need for a Congressional Term Limit Constitutional Amendment.   It is the only way to get fresh blood into Congress and to end the corruption that is rampant.   We need citizen politicians, that live in the real world, not politicians for life, feeding at the trough, which is what we have now. 

Of course, Obama and his Socialist pals in Congress have no plan to stop deficit spending.  Under Obama's trajectory, if allowed to prevail, we would see our National Debt grow by another $10 Trillion, or more in the next ten years.  The markets will never allow it as we will see additional downgrades of the credit worthiness of the United States long before and our economic collapse, which is Obama's goal to "transform" America.   The balloon is going to burst as it has in Europe. 

We have got to take back our country in 2012 and 2014 and that means sweeping both Socialists, like President Obama and even incumbent Republicans out of office, that refuse to make the tough decisions to prevent the bankruptcy of our nation.  Let's start with imposing a hiring freeze to eliminate 500,000 federal civilian jobs out of the current 2.65 million in the next five years through normal attrition.  This will lead to elimination of redundant programs, agencies, commissions and departments.  That will save Trillions of dollars over the next ten years.   The Socialists will never propose this plan because they are owned lock, stock and barrel by the public employee unions; but we are not hearing big government Republicans propose it either.  

Common sense must prevail.   We are BROKE.   It is time to cut the size of federal government.   This logical plan is the way to do it.   E-mail your Congressman or woman and your Senators and tell them that 500,000 federal civilian employees have to go over 5 years, again by normal attrition, not lay off's.  We have to get this done.   We need to get the size of government down to no more than 17 or 18% of GDP, the traditional level, rather than Obama's 25% that is bankrupting our country.  The survival of our nation depends on it.  We must raise holy hell to preserve our freedom, our nation and way of life for the sake of our children and grandchildren.
