Restoring American Culture And Values

While we need to take back our country in 2012 and 2014 to restore sound fiscal management and prevent the bankruptcy of the United States, we must also focus on restoring American culture and values. During the last 50 years, the left wing media, dysfunctional Hollywood, Secularists and Socialists have hijacked our culture and values. They have rejected right and wrong and instead advanced a moral relativism that allows all to "do their own thing" even if it has been bad for our country. The fact is that we should have the 10 Commandants posted on every street corner, not to advance Judeo-Christian theology, though that would be a good thing, but rather to demonstrate that right and wrong is absolute.

It is wrong to cheat, steal or murder no matter what the excuse, or extenuating circumstance. It is wrong to have babies out of wedlock, though it is preferable to abortion as contraception. It is wrong to have casual sex in one night stands because it is a road to no where. It is wrong to have extra-marital affairs that are an assault on the family. It is wrong to use drugs or liquor to escape the urgency's of daily life. These are all absolutes of right and wrong; yet today all of this has become a big joke to the detriment of our society.

More often that not television shows and movies are either about sexual promiscuity or murder. Men on these shows speak of "nailing women" in meaningless one night stands as a big joke. Where is the left wing National Association of Women concerning these shows that degrade women. Instead, it is Conservative women who are criticized and ridiculed by the left wing for their opposition to abortion and their support of family values. Even a show like Glee, which began as a great program focused on talented high school kids in a Glee Club in an Ohio high school, has changed from a TV show that could be watched by the whole family to one with sexual themes that is no longer suitable for family viewing. The question is why? Glee was like watching a great Broadway musical every week. Yet as the show progressed over the weeks, the writers felt the need to transform the program into one with sexual themes that add absolutely no entertainment value.

And if network television shows and movies are not sex-based, they focus on murder, or solving murders just about every night of the week. Surely, there is more to America that sexual promiscuity and murders. This blogger is neither a prude, nor an old foggy as someone who grew up in the free sex and drug generation of the 60's, 70's and 80's; but today with more maturity and cold hard facts, I can see end result of those behaviors. Our inner cities are a mess. Many children are ill-prepared for the workforce. Half of marriages end in divorce. And, we have many dysfunctional families that are a burden on society.

As we look to the future, we must take back our country to restore American culture and values and it must start with changing our public schools where right and wrong, the value of hard work and patriotism should be taught above all else. We must state without question that marriage between a man and a woman and children born from a healthy long term marriage is preferable to all other arrangements. We must recognize that the sanctity of life is the foundation of any society. We must promote hard work and the old Protestant work ethic. And, we must tell Hollywood that there is more to life than sexual promiscuity and murder.

The Secularists and Socialists do not get any of this, which is one more reason we must sweep them out of office in 2012 and 2014. Taking back our country is about more than just getting our fiscal house in order. We also need to restore American culture and values. This is not about having the religion police on every street corner. It is instead about restoring common sense and right and wrong in our society and not being afraid to speak in terms of right and wrong, which is half the battle.

To get there, we must elect Conservatives in 2012 and 2014 that support free market capitalism, limited government, lower taxes and less regulation, a balanced budget, term limits, real education, energy and health care reform, a strong national defense, including securing our border and fighting Terrorism, the right to bear arms, the sanctity of life and FAMILY VALUES THAT ARE THE FOUNDATION OF OUR NATION. This is the platform supported by the majority of the American people and the only way to restore economic growth, job creation and our culture and values.

Most important, we must take back our country in 2012 and 2014 by electing Conservatives, that support the Constitution, as written by our Founding Fathers, not as contrived by the left wing media, Socialists in the last 97 years, former Presidents, Congresses, our the Courts. We must take back our country to restore American culture and values. We can do it. We will do it to preserve our freedom, our nation and way of life and for the sake of our children and grandchildren.
