Airport Security - Let's Focus On The Terrorists

The Transportation Security Administration has installed full body scan x-ray machines at various airports that apparently display a naked silhouette. If the traveler refuses to undergo this scan, then the traveler must undergo a serious "pat down" that includes a TSA employee touching our private parts. As a frequent flyer with more than 5 million miles, I will not subject myself to even low levels of radiation, on a regular basis, because of the cancer threat. So for me anyway, I guess that means the "pat down" three or four times a month.

As young people say, that means that a TSA employee will be touching "my junk" when ever I have to fly. Though I don't smoke, perhaps I should carry a pack of cigarettes so I can offer one to the TSA employee after he does his job. This whole process is a bridge too far and an invasion of privacy that is really unacceptable for most people, including me. This so bad that a California District of Attorney has already stated that he will file sexual assault charges against TSA employees, if a complaint is filed. Where is this going?

And why is it happening? The US government refuses to implement profiling to identify people that could most likely be Terrorists. Ironically, Muslim women wearing berkas may be excluded from this treatment on religious grounds. Hello!! Let's face it. A young person who has a passport from a Muslim country, who travels infrequently, is more likely to be a Terrorist than an 80 year old grandmother from Peoria, Illinois. The same would be true if the traveler was a long time employee of a major American company. Socialist President Obama will not even refer to Muslim Terrorists as what they are calling them instead Extremists, or maybe just bad people. So as long as Obama is President, which hopefully will only be until 2012, common sense will not prevail.

Ok fine! So instead of implementing profiling how about if we profile in reverse to eliminate people who clearly are not Terrorists. How can that be discrimination? As someone who has been flying for business and leisure for more than 30 years, United and American Airlines know me well including membership in both the Admirals and Red Carpet Clubs. I have their highest frequent flyer designations. Is this the profile of a Terrorist? As a company CEO and President, is that the profile of a Terrorist? And finally, this blogger belongs to both a country club and a Catholic Church, hardly the profile of a Terrorist. So why is the government wasting time on me and others like me? Ridiculous!

Surely the TSA can require frequent flyers to provide information to create a frequent travel card, even with a photo, that would make the full body scan, or a pat down unnecessary. We could still go through the normal machine to make sure there are no weapons entering the airport. This would allow the TSA to focus instead on those who might actually be Terrorists rather than the little old lady from Pasadena and frequent flyers like me.

We really do have to take back our country in 2012 and 2014, if nothing else to restore common sense and sound fiscal management. That means sweeping Socialists out of office and electing Conservatives who support free market capitalism, limited government, lower taxes and less regulation, a balanced budget, term limits, real education, energy and health care reform, a strong national defense, including securing our border and fighting Terrorism, the right to bear arms, the sanctity of life and family values that are the foundation of our nation. This is the winning platform supported by the majority of the American people and the only way to restore economic growth and job creation in the United States.

Most important, we must elect Conservatives who will adhere to the Constitution, as written by our Founding Fathers, not as contrived by the left wing media, Socialists in the last 97 years, former Presidents, Congresses, or the Courts. Goofy airport security, that violates our privacy and our rights, is just one more reason we must take back our country to restore common sense. We can do it. We will do it to preserve our freedom, our nation and way of life and for the sake of our children and grandchildren. And, I don't want any stranger in an airport touching my junk.
