California - Dumb, Dumber & Dumbest

If California was a movie, it would have to be called Dumb, Dumber and Dumbest. In contrast to the trend around the country in which Republicans were elected resoundingly rejecting Obama and all his Socialist Schemes, California continues down the Socialist path toward complete bankruptcy. 72 year old, Socialist Jerry Brown, the former Governor of California, 28 years ago, referred to then as Governor Moon Beam, was reelected to serve as the Governor of California defeating Republican Meg Whitman, the former CEO of E-Bay.

Brown is owned lock, stock and barrel by the public employee unions that are bankrupting the state. There is currently about $100 billion of unfunded public employee union pension liability that will hit the state of California. Brown actually caused the mess years ago by signing the bill that allowed for collective bargaining by public employee unions.

And, the Socialist controlled legislature, with the signature of current RINO Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, just approved a budget to close a $20 billion deficit that was all smoke and mirrors, including higher revenue assumptions than will occur and an assumption that President Obama is going to give California $5 Billion in the next fiscal year. Since all appropriations begin in the House of Representatives, that is now controlled by Republicans, that $5 billion is a pipe dream.

So Governor elect Brown, who will not be able to cross the public employee unions, is walking into a real mess. The unions are advocating tax increases, which Brown committed during the campaign, will not happen without a vote of the people. We will see how long that promise is kept!! There are currently more than 2o0,000 employees on the state payroll and that does not include local public employees like teachers, cops and firemen. 50,000 of them would have to be laid off, to deal with California's annual deficit, which is almost impossible and will not happen under Jerry Brown. Remember, whose bread you eat, whose song you sing. Brown has been feeding at the union trough for years so he just can't break the habit.

California already has among the highest taxes in the nation and all sorts of job killer laws that have been driving companies and jobs out of California for years. Current official unemployment is above 12%; but the real number is probably 16%, if all are counted. Raising taxes and adding even more regulations, likely under Brown, will insure perpetual unemployment in California. No company in their right mind would expand, or open up a new business in California.

Ultimately, California will have to file bankruptcy, which will include a default on California bonds, that now have junk bond status, to deal with its deficit spending. The only problem is that the Socialist State Legislature enacted legislation, signed by one of the Socialist Governors years ago, that says in the event of bankruptcy, the state cannot abrogate its public employee union contracts and pension liability. I doubt this will stand up in a bankruptcy court; but this law is on the books.

And to add a nail to the coffin, the voters of California voted to implement Assembly Bill 32, the California version of CAP & TAX that will raise the cost of energy for all along with the cost of all goods and services. Proposition 23, the initiative on the ballot that would have delayed implementation until unemployment was down to 5.5%, failed by a 61.1% to 38.9% vote. The majority of voters, 3 to 1 Socialist in California, are simply crazy and or they have such a poor understanding of Economic 101, that logic and common sense just cannot prevail.

Finally, the majority of voters in California reelected Senator Barbara Boxer, by far the most incompetent Senator in the US Congress. Even her home town newspaper, the San Francisco Chronicle, did not endorse Boxer saying that her 28 year career in Congress was "undistinguished". That is a code word for saying that Boxer is so left wing and polarizing that she has accomplished absolutely nothing in her 28 years in Congress.

So we have Dumb, the election of Jerry Brown as Governor, Dumber, the rejection of Proposition 23, and Dumbest, the reelection of Senator Barbara Boxer. California is lost and on a death spiral until such time as the people of California wake up and take back their state. In any case, we can see what happens when Socialists control all branches of government. Entitlements explode, taxes go through the roof and jobs are destroyed.

What is happening in California is another reason we must take back our country by electing Conservatives that support free market capitalism, limited government, lower taxes and less regulation, real energy independence and health care reform, a strong national defense, including securing our border and fighting Terrorism, the right to bear arms, the sanctity of life and family values that are the foundation of our nation. This is platform, which is supported by the majority of the American people, is the only way to restore economic growth and job creation in America.

We must also elect Conservatives that adhere to the Constitution, as written by our Founding Fathers, not as contrived by the left wing media, Socialists in the last 97 years, former Presidents, Congresses or the Courts. We can do it. We will do it to preserve our freedom, our nation and way of life and for the sake of our children and grandchildren. We certainly can't let our elected representatives in Washington do to our nation what the Socialists have done to California. Yep, a movie about California would be certainly be called Dumb, Dumber and Dumbest.
