War Crimes - Americans Could Be Next

Israeli government officials will not be visiting Britain any time soon following the near arrest on December 13 of Tzipi Livni, the leader of the opposition party in Israel for alleged war crimes. A London judge, without the approval of the British government, issued an arrest warrant for Ms. Livni for her role as foreign minister in Israel's "Operation Cast Lead", the assault on the Gaza Strip earlier in 2009. The order was withdrawn when the judge learned that Ms. Livni would not be in Britain as planned.

This is not the first time a British court, acting on its own, has attempted to charge a citizen of another country with war crimes or crimes against humanity. The highest profile case on record was the case against General Augusto Pinochet of Chile more than a decade ago. Other Israeli's like Doron Almog, a former general, Shaul Mofaz, a former defense minister and Moshe Yaalon, a minister and former army chief of staff have all had to cancel visits to Britain for fear of arrest. Of course, all of this is absurd.

Israel was founded more than 60 years ago and has been at war, or otherwise under attack, by its Arab neighbors and/or Terrorist Groups, like Hamas supported by them ever since. Only Jordon and Egypt recognize Israel's right to exist and have made peace with Israel. All other Arab countries and Iran, a Persian country, do not recognize Israel as a free and independent nation. Iran is building nuclear weapons presumably to use against Israel and other Western countries that support Israel. As such, since Israel was founded as an independent nation, it has been fighting for its very survival. The very notion that a British court would attempt to arrest Israeli officials for doing what they must do to protect their nation is truly the world turned upside down.

Yet, we have the same things happening in our own country. Three Navy Seals face Court Martial because they may have given a Terrorist a bloody nose or fat lip when they captured him. At the approval of President Obama, Attorney General Eric Holder is trying CIA officers, who have previously been cleared of any charges, for their role in dealing with Terrorists held at GITMO. Holder is giving the 9/11 Terrorists the same rights as American Citizens by trying them in New York City in Federal Court rather than by Military Tribunal. None of this makes any sense.

There are left wing radicals around the world that want to try President George W Bush, Vice President Dick Cheney and American soldiers for war crimes related to prosecuting the war in Iraq and Afghanistan. President Obama spoke of "Just War" in Copenhagen when he got the Nobel Prize he did not earn. These left wing radicals do not see any war as a "Just War". President Obama, who is no friend of Israel, needs to speak up in defense of Israel to prevent the same fate happening to Americans. If Israeli's can be charged with war crimes for defending their nation, Americans will be next because there is unavoidable collateral damage in every war. Civilians often are killed; particularly when Terrorist Members of the Islamic Fascist Army and Al Queda do not wear uniforms and hide among civilians. Al Queda and Hamas are pleased when civilians are killed because it allows them to recruit more fanatics. Remember, these are the people who convince young men and women to be suicide bombers in the name of Jihad, holy war.

President Obama needs to defend Israel and the United States because our countries are both under attack. Obama, however, just doesn't get it. The US, all western nations and Israel are in a global war with the Islamic Fascist Army and Al Queda. President Obama won't even say this out loud. Pretending it is not happening will not make it go away. The notion that any citizen of any country could be tried and convicted of war crimes for defending that country really is the world turned upside down.

We have to take back our country in 2010 and 2012. We must elect Conservatives committed to sound fiscal management and a strong national defense. Our President is sworn to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States and our way of life not win a popularity contest around the world. President Obama and the Democrat Socialists that control Congress are a clear and present danger to our nation. The elections in 2010 and 2012 will be critical to stopping the fiscal insanity and danger to our national security. The last thing we want to see is an American tried as a War Criminal for defending our nation as they are sworn to do. Given Obama's history and actions, this President cannot be trusted to stop this from happening.
