President Obama - Snake Oil Salesman

It is pretty clear that President Obama is one heck of a snake oil salesman. Obama is the best example in politics of the old bait and switch we have seen in years. During the campaign, Obama promised us transparency and negotiations to reform Health Care broadcast on C-Span instead of behind closed doors. Then Obama claimed he would veto bills with ear marks and pork barrel spending and instead we got billions in wasteful spending signed by the President. Obama told us that he would end No Bid Contracts and sweet heart deals and guess what, we have gotten No Bid Contracts and sweet hearts deals galore. This President must think the American people are really stupid, or that we have very short memories. Many actually listened to what Obama said during the campaign as he proclaimed, he would bring "change that we can believe in".

The change we got is more corruption and complete incompetence in both domestic and foreign policy. Now President Obama is telling us that he is going to "freeze" discretionary federal spending and that it will save $250 Billion over the next ten years; but this relates to less than 1% of the overall budget. It is chump change if it ever happens. This amounts to a cut of about $15 Billion in the next budget year. However, since the federal budget deficit is projected to be $1.35 TRILLION in 2010, this notion of a "freeze" is just plain laughable, particularly since Obama and the Democrat Socialists have increased the federal deficit by 38% since 2007. If President Obama is serious about deficit reduction, he should eliminate the Department of Education and many others departments that duplicate state bureaucracies to save some real money. In fact, if the federal government wants to help public education, a federal department is not needed at all. The FEDS can just provide the states a per pupil allotment and allow them to spend the money as they see fit. We don't need a federal bureaucracy and intrusion into public education, which is clearly a state and local function.

The President and the Democrat Socialists that control Congress are bankrupting the United States. While there were deficits during the Bush years, the highest year was around $450 Billion. Obama makes Bush look like Ebenezer Scrooge. Based on Obama's spending trajectory, the Congressional Budget Office is projecting deficit spending of about $10 Trillion in the next ten years. Based on past experience if this insanity is not stopped, this deficit is likely to be double what is projected. And, if Obama is successful in raising taxes, the deficit will be even higher because higher taxes will retard economic growth. This will be in addition to the 12. 3 Trillion already on the books and perhaps another $100 Trillion in unfunded liability for Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid and federal and state pensions. These numbers are completely unsustainable. It is inconceivable that any responsible elected official of either party would do this to our country. It is truly criminal and should be punishable by jail time. These Democrat Socialist politicians are much worse than Bernie Madoff and his scam and pyramid scheme and he is in jail for life.

So, we will see Obama the snake oil salesman during his first State of the Union Address. But, why should any American believe President Obama when he has broken so many campaign promises and his policies have led to very high unemployment and little economic growth. President Obama is a smart, though naive, nice man with a great smile and a beautiful family. But it is clear that Obama does not have the experience or the temperament to be President of the United States. Obama is in way over his head. President Obama is a global Socialist that supports high taxes, big government, more regulations, a weak national defense and the secularization of America. This is a prescription that will lead to a lower standard of living for all Americans.

We must take back our country in 2010 and 2012 by electing Conservatives and getting rid of this cabal of Democrat Socialists in control in Washington. Obama, Reid and Pelosi are bankrupting our country. We have to stop the fiscal insanity. We can do it. We must do it.
