Socialists & The War On The Oil Industry

Whenever the price of gas goes up, the Socialists in Congress insist that the CEO's of the various major oil companies come before Congress for verbal beatings.   Of course, Socialist President Obama wants to raise corporate taxes on oil companies because they are very profitable even though this is the most taxed industry of all.  While GE, Obama's pals, paid no corporate income in 2010, oil companies paid about 45 cents in various taxes on every dollar of profit that they earned to both the federal and state government.   In fact, the American people should be thrilled that oil companies are profitable because they not only create millions of good paying jobs for people in the US who are taxpayers too, oil companies are funding schools, social programs, roads etc.

What is particularly funny is that one of the Socialist Senators lecturing the CEO's of oil companies is Senator Jay Rockefeller of West Virginia whose trust funds and wealth emanate from none other than John D. Rockefeller, who founded Standard Oil, the predecessor to Chevron, one of the largest oil companies in the world. What an incredible hypocrite.   Senator Jay Rockefeller was born with an oil spoon in his mouth.   Of all people to scold oil companies for being profitable, one would think that this guy would hold his head low when then shenanigans are going on in Congress.   But no, Rockefeller like all Socialists doesn't have a clue about job creation, or the benefits that the oil industry has brought to the United States.

To be clear, though this Blogger owns some oil stock, I don't see a particular reason to defend the oil industry except for the fact that without a constant energy supply the United States would deteriorate into a third rate power.   If only the Socialists in Congress and the President understood Economics 101.   It is impossible to restore economic growth and job creation in our country without cheap energy.   Instead, Obama is doing everything he can to raise the cost of energy, which will result in slow or no growth and a lower standard of living for the American people.

We need a 50 year energy plan to make the United States energy independent, which means that we must develop all current sources of energy including oil, coal, nuclear and natural gas while newer technologies undergo additional research to become economically feasible without government subsidies.   As long as Socialists are in power, including President Obama, we will never be energy independent, which is the reason we must sweep these Socialists out of office in 2012 and 2014 by electing common sense Conservatives that support free market capitalism, limited government, lower taxes and less regulation, a balance budget, real energy, education and health care reform, a strong national defense, including securing our border and fighting Terrorism, the right the bear arms, the sanctity of life and family values that are the foundation of our nation.   This is the platform supported by the majority of the American people and the only way we can restore economic growth and job creation in our country.

We have to take back our country in 2012 and 2014.   We can do it.   We must do it to preserve our freedom, our nation and way of life for the sake of our children and grandchildren.   Watching Socialists in Congress make fools of themselves related to the oil industry just proves once again that we have clean house.   WE THE PEOPLE must throw these characters out of office and soon.
