Government Insanity - LED Light Bulbs To Cost $40 - $50 Each

In the next few years, regular light bulbs will be banned by the Federal government.   At this time, it is estimated that new, more energy efficient LED bulbs, that contain mercury, will cost between $40 and $50 each depending on the wattage.   And, when these LED bulbs break or burn out, the mercury content will require special disposal because mercury is a hazardous substance.  Are these elected officials who voted for this ban nuts?   Apparently so!!  Many people, presumably the 50% that pay no income taxes at all will have to choose between food and light bulbs.   Certainly, senior citizens who live on Social Security will not be able to afford these new light bulbs.  I can tell you that this Blogger is stocking up on regular light bulbs of all sizes to avoid the government ban.   Clearly any energy savings that may come from these LED bulbs will be eaten up by their extraordinary cost. 

While this is a bonanza for light bulb makers like GE (Obama's pals), that paid no federal income taxes in 2010, this is another case of government gone wild.   So instead of developing a common sense 50 year energy plan that will not only make the US energy independent and bring down the cost of energy, Socialists, like President Obama, are doing everything possible to raise energy costs, which will result in lower economic growth, a loss of millions of jobs and a lower standard of living for the American people.   This is social engineering that makes no sense. 

I just hope that all see the light and act to sweep these Socialists out of office in 2012 and 2014 by electing common sense Conservatives that support free market capitalism, limited government that stays out of the light bulb business, lower taxes and less regulation, a balanced budget, term limits, real energy, education and health care reform, a strong national defense, including securing our border and fighting Terrorism, the right to bear arms, the sanctity of life and family values that are the foundation of our nation.   This is the platform supported by the majority of Americans and the only way to restore economic growth and job creation in our country.  

This silly light bulb fiasco is just one more reason we must take back our country in 2012 and 2014.   Government is simply out of control.   WE THE PEOPLE must stand up and take back our country to preserve our freedom, our nation and way of life for the sake of our children and grandchildren.   We can do it.   We must do it.  In the meantime, unless you want to pay $40 - $50 for a light bulb, it is time to stock up.
