Oil Production - The Two Faces Of Obama

Socialist President Obama now says that he supports oil production in the Gulf of Mexico, certain parts of Alaska and other parts of the US because he is feeling the pressure of gas approaching $5 a gallon.   This is after telling the American people that oil companies are greedy and evil.   What we are seeing is the two faces of Obama.  Clearly, Obama has been told that he is a one term President if gas is at $5 a gallon twelve months from now.   So again, while Obama seems to be talking a good game, which is nothing unusual, he opposes recent legislation passed by the Republican controlled House of Representatives to stimulate drilling for both oil and natural gas.   And, the Socialists in the Senate that are controlled by big unions and environmental wackos will not vote for expansion of oil, coal, natural gas or nuclear energy production. 

So where are we?   The answer is no where with No Drama Obama and the Socialists in government.  We need a 50 year Energy Plan that provides certainty that will allow for the expanded production of oil, coal, natural gas and nuclear energy.  While environmental considerations should be reviewed for all projects,  the fact is that it now takes years to get approval to drill, mine or develop a nuclear plant, which is ridiculous.   And, we have to stop all the monkey business that is happening in the courts as environmental wacko groups sue to stop virtually all new energy production.  China is opening up a coal fired energy plant a week.   The Chinese plan to bring on 20 new nuclear plants in the next 12 - 24 months.   The United States has not built a new nuclear plant or gasoline refinery in more than 20 years.  

We can't wait any longer.   If the US does not move quickly toward energy independence that cannot be achieved by green technology for years to come, we will see significant job loss, much higher energy prices, higher cost for everything we do and buy and a much lower standard of living for all Americans.   The fact is that the US is rich in natural resources.    We have several hundred years  of coal and natural gas resources within the United States.   And, our oil reserves are as big as Saudi Arabia's.  Clearly, nuclear energy, which is carbon free energy, must be a significant part of the equation, which is the reason that Yucca Mountain in Nevada must be opened and used as a reprocessing facility, not just a storage facility for nuclear waste.  None of this precludes additional research and development of green technologies like wind, solar and bio fuels that are not economically feasible today. 

We need to do all of this to stop sending billions of dollars each year overseas to other countries to buy oil.  And, a resurgent energy industry will create millions of high paying jobs in the United States, which are badly needed now.   Unfortunately, President Obama and his Socialist Party will never do what is necessary to make the United States energy independent, which is an important reason that we must sweep them all out of office in 2012 and 2014.   We have to take back our country by electing common sense Conservatives that support free market capitalism, limited government, lower taxes and less regulation, a balanced budget, term limits, real energy, education and health care reform, a strong national defense, including securing our border and fighting Terrorism, the right to bear arms, the sanctity of life and family values that are the foundation of our nation.   This is the platform supported by the majority of the American people and the only way to restore economic growth and create jobs within our country.

We have to make Obama a one term President to finish the job we started in 2010.   We can do it.   We must do it to preserve our freedom, our nation and way of life for the sake of our children and grandchildren.   We need a common sense 50 year energy plan that will result in Energy Independence for the Unites States.   This will never happen as long as Barack Obama is the President of the United States and Socialists control various other branches of government.  We have work to do.  We have to clean house in 2012 and 2014.
