Enhanced Interrogation - Dealing With Terrorists

After 9/11, in order to protect the homeland, President George W Bush authorized the use of "enhanced interrogation" to be used on high profile captured Terrorists; otherwise known as water boarding; but it also included things like sleep deprivation.  Based on what has been reported, this technique was used on only  three Al Queda members with close ties to Osama Bin Laden.   Socialist President Obama along with most Socialists were and are vehemently opposed to "enhanced interrogation" calling it torture.   Keep in mind that we are not talking about inflicting bloody pain; but rather using techniques that make the Terrorist feel uncomfortable with no actual threat to life or limb.   Big deal!!

We have now learned that information gained through "enhanced interrogation" finally led to the location and killing of Osama Bin Laden.   Yet, many Socialists, including the President, refuse to acknowledge the benefit of using this technique even though President Obama has had to rescind his previous orders to close GITMO and to put Terrorists on trial in civil courts rather than by military tribunals because the uproar over these stupid decisions has been so great.  It is important that all Americans, including Socialists, understand that Islamic Fascists and members of Al Queda would use nuclear or biological weapons to kill hundreds of thousands of our people if they had them.   While 9/11 was an incredible tragedy resulting in the brutal deaths of more than 3,000 people, if Al Queda could make it happen, they would kill hundreds of thousands, if not millions of our people.

As such, our President must take this threat very seriously and do whatever is necessary to protect our nation and our people.  If it means water boarding high profile Terrorists, or giving them sleepless nights, that is the least that should be done to make certain that the United States does not experience another 9/11 or worse.  President Obama made a gutsy decision in going after Bin Laden; however, his other decisions related to dealing with Terrorists have been weak kneed.  The President is so worried about what people who hates us think of the United States.  What Obama needs to worry about is what Americans think of him.  Obama is the President of the United States; not the President of any other country, or the world.   Obama needs to mind our store and forget about other nations, or people's perceptions.   It is much more important that the President of the United States be feared and respected by those outside our country than loved.

President Obama made the right decision related to going after Bin Laden.   Bravo!  Obama's statements and other actions, however, cause this Blogger to be wary that Obama will always make the right decision to protect the interests of our country.  We need to make President Obama a one term President for many reasons not the least of which is national security.  We are facing serious threats around the world.  Our President needs to be tough and not convey any weakness.  Kissing the rings of foreign leaders, or bowing to them, as Obama has done, conveys weakness and will only embolden our enemies.

We have to take back our country in 2012 and 2014 by sweeping these Socialists out of office and electing tough, no nonsense Conservatives.   Who cares if people from other countries call our President a "cowboy" as they did with both Ronald Reagan and George W. Bush.  When all is said and done, the President of the United States is the Commander and Chief whose job it is to preserve and protect our country.   That is job one.  Nothing else is more important.
