American Jews Wake Up. In his recent speech on the Middle East, Socialist President Obama reversed 63 years of support for Israel by calling for Israel to go back to its 1967 borders. That would mean that not only would Israel not have defensible borders; but it would also mean giving up most of Jerusalem, including many holy sites for both Christians and Jews. Remember, before 1967, Jews were prohibited from visiting these holy sites and Arabs actually destroyed many Jewish synagogues in Jerusalem when they were in control. There has been a rocky peace in Israel since 1967 because Israel's armed forces have been able to prevent Arab countries and Terrorists from attacking their country. 1967 borders will destroy that peace not preserve it.
Obama's pronouncement has come at the worst time possible. Moderate Palestinians, if there are any, have made peace with HAMAS, the Terrorists that control the GAZA Strip. They are forming a unity government with HAMAS, funded by Iran, that is committed to the destruction of Israel. HAMAS does not recognize Israel's right to exist. And, very soon there will be a vote in the United Nations to recognize Palestine as an independent nation. Now that Obama has called for a Palestine based on 1967 borders that will be the basis for this recognition vote. Unless the United States vetoes this vote, which is now uncertain, Palestine will be declared an independent country by the United Nations with the 1967 borders. That will make peace negotiations with Israel impossible.
What I have always found interesting is that American Jews, typically liberal, support Socialists at election time. Now we have an American President who has betrayed Israel plain and simple. Aside from various other issues in the US that should cause American Jews to vote for Conservatives, now that Obama has betrayed Israel, how on earth can American Jews support Obama. This blogger just does not get it. Apparently, American Jews have not learned the lessons of history, which is very sad and troubling.
This is all happening during the Arab Spring in the Middle East as peoples in various countries in the Middle East are attempting to get rid of their corrupt, tyrannical governments. Obama talks about increased American aide to these countries to encourage economic growth. This Blogger would like to know why their rich Arab brothers in oil rich countries are not solely responsible for helping their poorer Arab neighbors. Why is American taxpayer money needed to help these Arab countries when oil rich countries are not only their neighbors; but their Arab brothers. The United States should encourage trade and democracy by moral suasion; but we are BROKE. We need to close our check book for once and mind our own business to get our own house in order.
Israel has been a strong US ally since it was founded in 1948. The Israeli people have built a beautiful country in the Middle East in the midst of Arab dictatorships, poverty and corruption. Israel shares western Judeo-Christian values, which include democracy and human rights. Does anyone believe that a Palestinian state will be any different than many other Arab countries. The West has given the Palestinians billions of dollars to encourage peace and economic development; yet the poverty in Palestine is severe. A lot of that money is sitting in the Swiss bank accounts of Palestinian leaders.
Socialist President Obama has betrayed Israel, an American ally, which is just one more reason we must make Obama a one term President in 2012. In fact, we have to sweep all Socialists out of office in 2012 and 2014 by electing Conservatives that support free market capitalism, limited government, lower taxes and less regulation, a balanced budget, term limits, real education, energy and health care reform, a strong national defense, including securing our border and fighting Terrorism, the right to bear arms, the sanctity of life and family values that are the foundation of our nation. This is the platform supported by the majority of the American people and the only way to restore economic growth and jobs in our country.
Every day, Socialist President Obama's actions demonstrate why we must take back our country in 2012 and 2014. Obama has been a complete failure in foreign policy and management of our economy. We have to take back our country. We can do it. We must do it to preserve our freedom, our nation and way of life for the sake of our children and grandchildren.
