President Obama - What A Negotiator

President Obama hosted a Nuclear Summit this week with about 47 nations in attendence to discuss better control of nuclear materials. Of course, North Korea, Iran and Pakistan, nations that represent a serious threat to the world related to their nuclear development were either not invited, or did not attend the meeting. However, Obama that great negotiator, who has achieved nothing significant in foreign affairs, got a great deal for the American people. 22 nations have agreed to dump their weapons grade nuclear materials, produced as a by product of their nuclear energy plants, in the United States. As the church lady always said, "Well isn't that nice". So in essence, the US is becoming the nuclear repository and waste dump for the world when we have failed to settle on a site to house, or reprocess our own nuclear waste. Go figure.

Senator Dirty Harry Reid of Nevada has put a halt to the utilization of Yucca Mountain, an ideal site for our national nuclear repository, about 100 miles from Las Vegas in the middle of the desert, even though the federal government has already invested more than $2 Billion in the site and it could mean many new jobs for Nevada and the diversification of the Nevada economy. So Yucca sits idle and empty. The US Nuclear Repository in Washington state is apparently full. So just where does Obama plan to put all the nuclear waste that will be coming from 22 countries to the United States in the next few years? Gosh, maybe there is room in the White House basement.

And, what is the United States being paid to take on this burden and responsibility? It is great that the US will gain control of these nuclear materials to keep them out of the hands of Islamic Extremist Terrorists, a group Obama does not want to acknowledge; but how about charging these nations our cost plus a profit. Oh wait a minute, I just used the word "profit", a term President Obama and the Eggheads in his Admininstration just do not understand. Clearly, if the United States is going to become the nuclear waste dump for the world, this should be turned into a job creating, money making business. There I go again proposing a free market, capitalist solution that could be good for America. And, there is no better place to do this than Yucca Mountain in Nevada and perhaps other sites in Nevada that are not near any population centers, which makes Nevada ideal.

The federal government owns and controls 87% of the land in Nevada, which is a whole different issue, so eminant domain is not necessary. Nevada could become the energy capital of the world related to nuclear material storage and reprocessing, wind and solar power. Actually, Obama owes this to Nevada since he has made statements that have negatively impacted Nevada's tourist industry and cost the state thousands of jobs.

As usual, President Obama's lack of experience is an issue once again. Before offering to take on the world's nuclear waste, the Obama Administration should have devised a plan to deal with it. Now what? We need to take back our country in 2010 and 2012 by electing experienced, Conservatives who understand the real world and support free market capitalism, limited government, lower taxes and less regulations, a balanced budget, a strong national defense, real energy independence, term limits, the right to bear arms, the sanctity of life and family values. We need to elect Conservative grown-up's who support the Constitution as written by our Founding Fathers, not as contrived by our young and inexperienced Socialist President, or former Presidents, Congresses, or the Courts. This is the winning platform. We must take back our country. We can do it. We must do it.
