Obama's HealthScare Plan - Repeal and Replace

The motto for the election of 2010 for Republicans related to Obama's HealthScare Plan should be "Repeal and Replace". Clearly, the vast majority of Americans favor repeal of this Socialist monstrosity because they know HealthScare is going to cost them loads of money in higher premiums and taxes and they will get benefit cuts and rationing for their money. Howard Dean, the former He Haw Chairman of the Socialist Party admitted in a recent interview that HealthScare is all about redistribution of income. Well surprise, surprise, at least Dean was honest about what we all know, which more than we can say for Obama and the other Socialists who control Congress.

What is particularly funny is that Dr. Jack Cassell, a Republican urologist in Florida has posted a sign on his door that reads, "Changes to your health care begin right now. Not in four years. The sign also goes on to say that patients who voted for Obama should get care else where. Of course, the doctor is not turning anyone away because that would be a violation of the Hippocratic oath; but Cassell is providing his patients with copies of a HealthScare time line that outlines major provisions in the HealthScare law. Cassell has labeled the information with the line, "This is what the morons in Washington have done to your health. Take one, read it and vote out anyone who voted for it." Obviously, the good doctor is trying to make the point that elections matter.

In the meantime, Obama is on the road trying to sell HealthScare to the American people because obviously we were not smart enough to get it during his 40 plus speeches on the topic. In a speech in Maine, Obama was pitching the notion that HealthScare would be good for small business in America. If that is true, then how come the American Chamber of Commerce that represents several hundred thousand small businesses is vehemently opposed to Obama's HealthScare Plan. Obviously, the Chamber has done the due diligence and determined that HealthScare is a killer for small business. Who are you going to trust, our Socialist President and enemy to business, or the American Chamber of Commerce that is in business to represent small and large businesses. I am going with the Chamber on this one.

The goal should be to Repeal and Replace HealthScare with real health care reform not another entitlement program, like Social Security and Medicare that are already bankrupting our country. We do need a ban on insurance company discrimination related to pre existing conditions and life time caps on benefits, with the full recognition that these mandates will raise premiums; although if reasonable caps are put in place with a reinsurance plan, perhaps managed by a Federal Reserve type agency, to cap liability as well, it is possible to keep premiums from rising to greatly. We do need to deal with malpractice reform and caps on crazy judgments to bring down costs. We do need to be able to buy insurance across state lines to provide for more competition. And, perhaps the poor need subsidies to help pay for private insurance. But these are the only things that we need.

We don't need another 159 government agencies, staffed by union employees earning high salaries and pensions, getting between the patient and the doctor. We don't need 16,000 more IRS agents at a cost of $10 billion a year to act as the HealthScare Gestapo. Most important, we don't need more government intrusion into our lives.

We must take back our country in 2010 and 2012 by electing common sense Conservatives who will support Repeal and Replace, limited government, lower taxes and regulations, term limits, a strong national defense, real energy independence, the right to bear arms, the sanctity of life and family values. We must elect Conservatives who support the US Constitution as written by our Founders, not as contrived by the current, or former Presidents, Congresses or the Courts. We must take back our country in 2010 and 2012. We can do it. We will do it.
