President Obama - No Friend of Israel

It is hard to understand how any Jewish American could have voted for Socialist President Obama when he is clearly no friend of Israel. The Obama Administration is pressuring Israel to make concessions to the Palestinian Authority that are not feasible and would lead to the destruction of Israel. Here are the facts. To this day, most Arab Countries do not recognize Israel's right to exist. Arabs still have as an ultimate goal driving the Israeli's into the sea no matter what they say when they are in the West. The Israeli's must deal with Hamas in the Gaza Strip and Hezbollah in Lebanon, Terrorist groups supported by Iran, that fire rockets into Israel. And, land for peace has not worked. When ever the Israeli's have made concessions, it has been seen as weakness by the Arabs and has never resulted in peace. I wonder what the US would do if rockets were being fired at US cities from Mexico or Canada?

The Israeli people have built a remarkable land of milk and honey out of coastal swamp land and interior deserts since the founding of Israel in 1948. Jewish claims on this land go back thousands of years. Despite being given billions of dollars from the West over the years, the Palestinians still live in poverty. While average income in Israel is around $30,000 a year, it is around $2,000 a year in the Palestinian territories. And, Arab unemployment is very high. Arab leaders are corrupt and have stolen, or squandered the billions given them by Western countries. Palestinians blame Israeli's for their problems, when in fact it is their leaders who have failed them.

There are about 7.2 million people living in Israel. Of those about a million are Israeli Arab citizens who vote in Israeli elections. Israeli Arabs are members of the Israeli parliment and enjoy all the freedoms of a Democratic society. As someone who has been to Israel, I can say that there are churches, mosques and temples everywhere because all are free to practice their faiths in Israel. The same cannot be said of most Arab countries where there is no religious freedom.

There will never be peace in Israel until there is religious reconcillation. That means that perhaps the Dome of the Rock, the Islamic mosque in Jerusalem that sits on the spot of former Jewish Temples, where Abraham was said to offer Issac in sacrifice to God, should be turned into a multi-faith United Nations World Heritage Site because this particular spot, believed to be the center of the world, is sacred to all people of the Book, Jews, Moslems and Christians. Of course, the Moslems will never allow this to happen; but it is the key to reconcilliation.

A two state solution is possible; but only when Arabs recognize Israel's right to exist. Socialist President Obama needs to come to Israel and see this land not just the airport and official venues. From the border with Lebannon to Elat on the Red Sea, the Israeli people, which includes Jews, Moslems and Christians have built a wonderful country that is lush with agriculture. If anything President Obama needs to pressure the Palestinians to get with the program and make peace. Israeli's want peace and would make necessary concessions to get it; but only if it is real.

Obama proves every day that he is not up to the job of being the President of the United States. Obama's lack of understanding of the situation in Israel is just more evidence that his judgement is flawed and even dangerous. Clearly, Obama's failed policy related to Iran is another indication of his naive inexperience. We need to take back our country in 2010 and 2012 by electing Conservatives that understand International Relations 325 and who support free market capitalism, limited government, lower taxes and less regulations, a balanced budget, term limits, a strong national defense, real energy independence and health care reform, the right to bear arms, the sanctity of life and family values. Most important, we must elect Conservatives that support the Constitution, as written by our Founding Fathers, not as contrived by our current Socialist President, former Presidents, Congresses or the Courts. We can do it. We must do it to save our country for our children and grandchildren.
