Our Divided Nation - The Tea Party Movement

On April 15th, there were Tea Party Protests all over the nation. Thousands of patriotic Americans took to the streets to protest Socialist President Obama's drive to "transform" our nation into a European style Socialist country with even higher taxes, massive deficits that are bankrupting our country and limits on our freedoms as a result of Obama's HealthScare and CAP & TAX Plans. And, contrary to Socialist and the left wing media's assertions, a New York /CBS New Polls recently confirmed that Tea Party Members are not the racist, red necks, astro turf, angry mobs that have been portrayed by Socialists; but instead Tea Party Members tend to be 45 years or older, White, Married, Republicans, who are better educated and better off than most other Americans. Well surprise, surprise! The people I have seen at Tea Party Protests in fact represent a cross section of society of all races, ages, education levels and professions. These people are indeed patriotic Americans who will be silent no more as we act to take back our country.

Arrogant, Socialist President Obama is so far removed from the American people that he recently said about Tea Party Protesters, "I've been a little amused over the last couple of days when people have been having these rallies about taxes. You would think they would be saying Thank You." Mr. President, thank you for what?? Since Obama was elected, he and the Socialists who control Congress have raised taxes by $670 Billion dollars over the next ten years. In addition, Obama intends to allow the Bush tax cuts to expire at the end of 2010, which will result in a $2 Trillion tax increase over ten years. Obama's Trillion dollar SwindleUS Plan has been a complete failure as both unemployment and foreclosures are on the rise again. We have 25 million Americans unemployed, under employed, or who have just stopped looking for jobs. Obama has bowed to foreign leaders, failed to recognize Terrorists as Islamic Extremists, attempted to try Terrorists in federal courts rather than Military Tribunals, taken our nuclear defense option off the table, appointed Socialists and even Communist to his Administration. Again, we must ask the President, Thank You for What? The Bush Team stabilized the banking system; so Obama gets no credit there.

Mr. President, you won't be amused in November when the Republicans take back the Congress, which will be a complete repudiation of Obama's Socialist Schemes. The fact is that the nation has never been more divided since the Civil War. And, our divisions go much deeper than the obvious divisions related to Socialists and Conservatives and Red and Blue States. There really are two Americas. 50% of us pay federal income taxes to support our society. About 50% percent of the American people pay little or no federal income taxes at all. They are tax users not tax payers with no stake in our society. We even provide the working poor the Earned Income Tax Credit so that on April 15th, they get a check from the government with no expectation of anything in return. The Earned Income Tax Credit cost tax payers $70 Billion a year, which just represents redistribution of income. I don't mind helping the working poor to keep them off welfare; however, they should be required to finish high school, or complete two years of vocational training, or college after high school so that one day, they might actually become tax payers instead of tax users. Why are these people getting something for nothing?

There are those of us who believe in God as the foundation of our lives and those that are atheists who just went to court to have our National Day of Prayer declared unconstitioinal. Most important, those of us who pay taxes see the government as the problem not the solution. We seek to limit the power of the government to protect our freedoms, while tax users depend on the government for their sustenance. There really are two Americas and it is getting worse by the day.

We have a progressive income tax gone wild, where the top 10% of income earners and job creators are paying all the bills. Yet, Socialist President Obama implements class warfare when he states that these people do not pay their "fair" share. This is ridiculous. If the top ten percent of income earners are not paying their fair share, which in some cases means more than 50% of earnings going to various levels of government, then just who is paying their fair share to support government? It is certainly not Obama's Peeps, who pay little or nothing.

We must take back our country in 2010 and 2012 by sweeping these Socialists out of office and electing Conservatives who support free market capitalism, limited government, lower taxes and less regulations, a balanced budget, term limits, real energy independence and health care reform, the right to bear arms, the sanctity of life and family values. Most important, we must elect Conservatives who support the Constitution as written by our Founding Fathers, not as contrived by our current Socialist President, former Presidents, Congresses or the Courts. This is the winning platform. We must take back our country for the sake of our children and grandchildren. We can do it. We must do it.
