Securing The Border In Afghanistan

For the first laugh of the New Year, Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano completed a surprise visit to Afghanistan to work with Afghan officials by giving them helpful hints on how to secure their mountainous border with Pakistan. This must be a skit on Saturday Night Live, or surely it will be in the next week or two. The United States has a 1500 mile border with Mexico that is not secure. Napolitano is technically the person in charge of securing our border. How on earth can this woman have any credibility any where in the world related to securing a border, when we don't even have control over our border. Napolitano's trip was a complete waste of taxpayer money. I hope she flies home coach.

Securing the US border is not only a national security issue, illegal aliens are contributing to the bankruptcy of many border states like California and Arizona. While Mexicans working in the US are hard working people, they pay no income taxes. Presumably, they do pay sales tax for the things they buy and property taxes in the rents they pay; but since they are in low income housing often with many children, any taxes they pay into the system are far outweighed by the cost to support illegal aliens in our public schools, hospitals and criminal justice system. Though illegal aliens work for low wages, they are costing our society far more on an hourly basis than is obvious because of the cost to support them.

To be clear, this blogger is not anti-immigrant, or anti-Mexican. I would support a guest worker program, with strict rules, to provide for legal immigration as part of a total immigration reform package that starts with securing the border; but the fact is that we cannot afford to be Mexico's welfare system any longer. HELLO, the United States is headed toward bankruptcy. The day will come, if it is not already here, when we cannot even take care of the needs of our own citizens let alone the 12 million illegal aliens living in the United States.

In 2011, it is estimated that 10,000 Baby Boomers will turn 65 years old each day. All of these people will be eligible for Social Security and Medicare both of which are headed toward insolvency. We must secure our border to stop the influx of illegal aliens because we cannot afford to provide retiring Baby Boomers the benefits that they paid for and at the same time pay to support illegal aliens. It really is that simple.

The Secretary of Homeland Security needs to focus on securing our border and let the US Army deal with Afghanistan, PLEASE. Of course, Socialist President Obama, like past Presidents, will not do what is necessary to secure the US border because it is politically incorrect. The reality is that we need to post the US Army on our border to stop the drug trafficking and illegal aliens, some of whom are terrorists, from entering our country. If we got down to business, we can get this done; but it will not happen as long as Obama is President.

Securing the border is another reason we must elect no nonsense Conservatives in 2012 and 2014 that support free market capitalism, limited government, lower taxes and less regulation, a balanced budget, term limits, real education, energy and health care reform, a strong national defense, including SECURING OUR BORDER, the right to bear arms, the sanctity of life and family values that are the foundation of our nation. This is the platform supported by the majority of the American people and the only way to restore economic growth and job creation in our country.

Most important, we must elect Conservatives in 2012 and 2014, who will adhere to the Constitution, as written by our Founding Fathers, not as contrived by the left wing media, Socialists in the last 98 years, our current and former Presidents, Congresses, or the Courts. We must take back our country in 2012 and 2014. Securing the border is essential to getting the job done. We can do it. We must do it to preserve our freedom, our nation and way of life for the sake of our children and grandchildren.
