President Obama - There He Goes Again

In a speech in New Hampshire, President Obama chastised Americans by telling us we should save our money to send our kids to college rather than blowing it in Vegas. Be assured Mr. President, most Americans do not "blow" their money in Vegas because what little disposable income many have is going to pay federal, state and local taxes. This is the second time Obama has singled out Las Vegas, rather than places like his home state Hawaii, as an evil convention or vacation destination. The last time Obama did this, Las Vegas lost $400 million in convention business and thousands of jobs. Mr. President, in case you don't know it many people go to Las Vegas by car rather than flying because it can be a relatively cheap vacation and convention destination since beautiful hotels and meals are subsidized by gaming. Americans often go to Las Vegas on vacation for the incredible hotels, food, amenities and entertainment because it is cheaper than going to places like California, New York, or Hawaii.

Naturally, both Democrat Socialists from Nevada, including the Mayor of Las Vegas and Nevada Republicans once again went ballistic related to Obama's comments. The Mayor of Las Vegas, who is a Democrat responded by saying that if Obama comes to Las Vegas, he will "boot" him out of town. The Mayor went on to say that Obama is a "real slow learner who has failed in Washington". Democrat Socialist Senator Harry Reid of Nevada, who is fighting for his political life even said the President "should lay off Las Vegas; though the last time around Harry said little when Obama "called out" Nevada. In the mean time, Nevada has the highest foreclosure rate in the country and about the highest unemployment rate at 13%. Tourism is a key industry to the state of Nevada so when ever the President tells people not to visit, he is directly harming the people of Nevada and killing jobs.

The best part of the President's comments related to families as he said, "When times are tough, you tighten your belt". The President actually made this statement as he proposed a $3.8 Trillion federal budget for 2011, which will result in a $1.6 Trillion deficit, the highest ever and about four times the highest annual Bush deficit plus Trillion dollar deficits in each of the next ten years. What chutzpah!!

The federal government has grown by nearly 200,000 employees since Obama's election to about 2.15 million employees the highest level since 1992, after Bill Clinton declared "the era of big government is over". This huge jump in government employment is happening at the same time that there have been massive lay-offs in the private sector. So just when is Obama going to tighten his belt and start cutting government employees. Don't hold your breath.

First, let me say to all as a Nevada resident, we welcome your visit. Come and have a great time in Las Vegas or Reno -Lake Tahoe. Don't listen to the President. You will have a very cost effective vacation and or conference in Nevada. Second, President Obama, who has never managed a business in his life, or really any other organization except maybe ACORN, does not have a clue concerning growing our economy. Senator Blanche Lincoln of Arkansas, a Democrat Socialist who will probably be defeated in 2010 said today that the President and no one in his cabinet has ever made payroll. Well dah! The President is a big government, tax and spend Socialist who seeks to grow the government at the expense of the private sector to support his public employee union friends. In the process, the President and the Democrat Socialists that control Congress are seemingly intentionally bankrupting the United States. What other reason could there be for any responsible member of Congress to vote for these huge deficits?

We must take back our country in 2010 and 2012 by electing Conservatives committed to sound fiscal management, a balanced budget, smaller more limited government, lower taxes and regulations, a strong national defense including the fight against Terrorism, the sanctity of life and family values. We must make Obama a one term President. We can do it. We must do it.
