Some American Women & The Abortion Issue

This Blogger is amazed that there are women in the United States that will choose between Governor Mitt Romney, an accomplished and experienced candidate running for the Presidency and Socialist President Obama, a candidate for the Presidency that has accomplished virtually nothing of importance in his life, solely on the basis of who supports abortion.    This is astounding indeed when our country and our people are facing serious economic and financial challenges that may very well determine if we retain our national sovereignty.

This extreme attitude concerning abortion rights actually comes from the Feminist Movement that began in the 60's when women burned their bras in the name of equal rights.  As a Baby Boomer, I was there when all of this happened and though I was never part of the ME generation, many Baby Boomers still cannot see beyond themselves.  Apparently for some left wing radical women, part of gaining equal rights meant the right to unrestricted abortion, including heinous partial birth and even late term abortions.

The reality is that the majority of Americans are now Pro-Life because the technology makes it very clear that a mother is carrying a living human being very shortly after conception.   And, even if we accept that abortion should be legal in cases of rape, incest, or if the mother's life is really in danger, which is Mitt Romney's position and mine, it is no less the murder of an innocent human being.   The Bible says God knew you before you were you and that means even before conception.  This Blogger believes that life is not an accident; but rather part of God's plan for each of us.   Even for those that don't believe in God, presumably everyone believes that murder is wrong.

Sadly, there have been more than 20 million abortions since Roe V Wade became the law of the land in the early 70's.  Most of those abortions have been as a substitute for birth control, certainly not as a result of rape, incest, or if the mother's life was in danger.   Women and Men in these cases had a choice to use birth control, or other means of preventing pregnancy.   And, by the way, no one in the Republican Party supports denying women contraceptives, which can be purchased at Wal Mart for about $10 a month for those that don't have prescription drug coverage.   So, this issue brought up the Socialists is bogus.  Further, Planned Parenthood, the nation's largest abortion mill, provides birth control pills to poor women free of charge.

In any case, the notion that any woman would be so shallow to vote for President of the United States solely on the basis of the abortion issue, if and when it happens,  is unbelievable given the serious issues we face as a nation.   Most women recognize that abortion, what ever their personal opinions, is a side show in the broader scheme of things.   That is because 65% of American families are dual income households.   Women are working, along with men, to support their families.  Women have suffered most during the Obama Recession in terms of job loss, foreclosures, bankruptcies etc.   As a result, abortion rights are not high on a list of concerns for most women struggling to make ends meet to feed, clothe and house their families.

All Americans should support Common Sense Conservatives to get our country back on track.   We must make Obama a one term President and elect Mitt Romney, the next President of the United States and gain Republican control of both Houses of Congress to restore economic growth and job creation again in America.   It won't matter much if women have the right to unrestricted abortion, which is Obama and his Socialist pals position, if our country in bankrupt and we lose our freedom and national sovereignty.  It is time for women so inclined to vote for President on this single abortion issue to see the big picture.   It is time for a reality check.   There are many things more important in life than the right to unrestricted abortion.
