Radical Environmentalists - Enemies To Economic Growth

This weekend, this Blogger drove from the high deserts of North Nevada, through mountains and forests, to Northern California along Highway 70.   The 5 hour drive was beautiful.   About three hours into the drive, we hit the Feather River and followed it for about 60 miles.   What we saw were a whole series of hydro electric plants and dams along the river.  Based on the architecture and construction style, it was pretty clear that Highway 70 and these plants were built during the Great Depression to supply electricity to Northern California.  This may have been done under Socialist President Franklin Roosevelt's Work Progress Administration, or other Depression era government programs to bring electricity to rural areas.

The river water flowed through these hydro electric plants; but otherwise did nothing we could see to impact the beautiful scenery.  In fact, the dams created mini lakes that were really attractive.  Can you even imagine trying to build these hydro electric plants today.   First, Radical Environmentalist Groups would sue to stop the road the going through the forest to support the plants.  Then if the road made it through the courts,  Radical Environmentalist Groups would sue to stop the plants on the river claiming that fish and other animals would be impacted.   Finally, Obama's Gestapo, the Environmental Protection Agency, would step in to stop the project altogether by making it so costly that it would be impossible for any utility company to complete the project.

Socialist President Obama learned the hard way when he enacted his SwindleUS Plans that there is no such thing as a shovel ready project in the United States primarily because Environmental Radicals and the EPA make it almost impossible to build anything big.  Recently, this Blogger sat through a meeting, while a private company owner explained the process of trying to build an inter model train and truck depot about 60 miles East of Reno, Nevada where jobs are desperately needed.  The owner of the company described the process of trying to deal with the city, county, state and the federal governments to get this done.  A small part of the land involved is owned by the Federal Bureau of Land Management that controls about 86% of the land in Nevada, which further complicates this process.   When asked how long do you think it will take to get the approvals for this project, assuming that approval is even possible; the business owner answered maybe seven years because of all the road blocks.

We have reached ridiculous in our country.   Environmental Radicals are enemies to any kind of economic growth in our nation.   No one wants dirty air or water; but neither do we want a lower standard of living for our people.  We need a balanced approach to managing the environment, which is why we must eliminate the Environmental Protection Agency and replace it with the Environmental Solutions Agency.   We need a can do agency for our tax dollars rather than what we have today.   We need an ESA committed to finding ways to make development possible rather than impossible.

This will never happen as long as President Obama and his Socialist pals at all levels of government remain in office.   They are owned by Radical Environmentalists that are enemies to economic growth and development, which is just one more reason we must sweep them all out of office in 2012 and 2014.   In order to create economic growth and jobs again in America, we need common sense environmental policy.   This will only happen if we elect Conservatives in 2012 and 2014.  We can do it.   We must do it to preserve our freedom, our nation and way of life for the sake of our children and grandchildren.   Our goal should be a higher standard of living for all Americans, not going backwards as will occur if we allow these Socialists and Radical Environmentalists to get their way.   We can't let that happen.
