Economic Growth & Prosperity - Cheap Energy

As the United States faces the most difficult economic environment since the Jimmy Carter years, President Obama and the Socialists who control Congress continue to make matters worse by threats, or enactment of higher taxes, higher health care costs and more regulation at every turn. This is the reason American business is sitting on billions in cash rather than making investments that would create jobs. There is just too much uncertainty in the market place. In addition, credit just is not readily available to finance growth and development because banks are now required to maintain higher reserves making it it more difficult for them to loan money; particularly to small businesses that employ about 70% or more of Americans.

In addition, the possibility of passage of Obama's CAP & TAX Scheme that will raise fuel and energy costs substantially for all is a major deterrent to economic growth and prosperity. It is only common sense. If the price of energy goes up, it will add to the cost of doing business, which will result in job losses and higher unemployment. Just look to bankrupt Spain to see the real story. Spain went green in a big way and it resulted in 20% unemployment and unsustainable debt.

In fact, the only way to deal with the 15 million Americans out of work is to enact pro-growth legislation that includes lower taxes, less regulation and cheap energy availability. To reduce the cost of energy, we must increase the availability which means more oil drilling, nuclear, natural gas and coal development as a bridge to new technologies like solar, bio fuels and wind that are not yet economically feasible. All of this can be done while still protecting the environment. To think, or say otherwise is a false choice.

Instead, Socialists Obama, Reid, Pelosi and those that control Congress and their environmental wacko supporters want to raise the cost of energy to limit its use. It is true that if the cost of energy goes up, utilization will go down and so will the production of goods and services. This will mean the loss of millions of jobs and a lower standard of living for all Americans. We can't let that happen.

Senator Dirty Harry Reid of Nevada is running campaign commercials saying that he has brought clean energy jobs to Nevada. Oh really! Where are those jobs? We don't see those jobs in Las Vegas or Reno. The official unemployment rate in Nevada is the second highest in the country at nearly 14% and when all are counted it is above 18%. Nevada also has the highest foreclosure rate in the country. So as we see the cost of energy going up because of the Socialists clean energy initiatives, we also see the job losses. Obviously, if the price of gas goes up fewer people will be driving from California to vacation in Las Vegas or Lake Tahoe. The same analogy applies to many, many expenditures that are tied to the cost of energy in one form or another. This is just Economics 101. I know, I know, I keep confusing Socialists with the facts that they refuse to accept as real. Instead, they prefer to live in a fantasy land that has no basis in reality.

The reality is that cheap energy is absolutely essential to economic growth and development, which is another reason we must elect Conservatives in 2010 and 2012 who support free market capitalism, limited government, lower taxes and less regulation, a balance budget, term limits, a strong national defense including securing our border and fighting Terrorism, REAL ENERGY INDEPENDENCE AND HEALTH CARE REFORM, the right to bear arms, the sanctity of life and family values.

Most important, we must elect Conservatives who support the Constitution, as written by our Founding Fathers, not as contrived by Socialists Obama, Reid, Pelosi, former Presidents, Congresses, or the Courts. We must take back our country in 2010 and 2012 to insure economic growth and prosperity. We can do it. We must do it to preserve our freedoms and for the sake of our children and grandchildren.
