Afghanistan IS Obama's War

Socialist President Obama inherited the war in Afghanistan from President Bush who began it in response to the 9/11 attack on the United States, which was orchestrated from Afghanistan. However, once President Obama raised his right hand and became the Commander and Chief, he became responsible in full for the prosecution of the war in Afghanistan. In that sense, Republican Party Chairman Michael Steele is right. Afghanistan is now Obama's war to win or lose. It is clearly time for the Obama Administration to stop blaming President Bush for all their foibles including the mistakes Obama is making in Afghanistan.

General McCrystal, who recently resigned as the commander in charge of the war in Afghanistan, asked President Obama for 40,000 more troops to conduct the war. Obama, the Ditherer and Chief took four months to determine that he would send 30,000 troops instead. Why 30,000 instead of the 40,000 requested, who knows? And, then President Obama and Vice President Biden announced that the troop pull out would begin in July, 2011 only to rescind that directive because they finally figured out that announcing a definitive troop withdrawal will only cause the enemy to wait us out. President Obama is naive, young and inexperienced and it shows concerning all of his foreign policy initiatives, which is dangerous and will cause the loss of American lives. Obama apparently did not learn the lessons of International Relations 325, which were very clear concerning the notion of a "vital national interest".

A vital national interest is so important that it is worth fighting for no matter how long it takes until victory is achieved. There was never a question in World War II that we would stop until the Germans and the Japanese surrendered unconditionally. In Korea, we drew a line in the sand across the Korean peninsula at the 38th parallel and we are still there to guarantee the freedom of South Korea. And, it may be that we will need to be in both Iraq and Afghanistan for years to make certain that Al Queda is never able to wage war against the United States from those countries again. It was only in Vietnam, that we gave up and came home, which allowed the Communists to prevail. To be clear, we were not defeated by the Communists in Vietnam; but rather by our own media and left wing liberals, many of whom would surrender our freedoms rather than fight for them.

The situation in Afghanistan looks dire because President Obama refuses to recognize that fighting a war is not the same as being a Community Organizer. To win in Afghanistan, we must have a coherent foreign policy and it is probable that more troops will be needed to defeat the insurgency there. The Taliban and Al Queda cannot be bought off. Sadly, they must be killed to achieve victory. And, we must get tougher with Pakistan that is providing safe harbor for these Terrorists. Like Korea, it is likely that we will need to maintain troops in Afghanistan and Iraq for years to come. It is a high price to pay; but another Terrorist attack on American soil would be devastating to our economy and as such we cannot allow that to happen at all cost.

President Obama has proven that he is not fit to be Commander and Chief. Like Jimmy Carter before him, the President is incompetent and a clear and present danger to our nation. As such, we must take back our country in 2010 and 2012 by electing Conservatives who support free market capitalism, limited government, lower taxes and less regulation, a balanced budget, term limits, a strong national defense including securing our border and fighting Terrorism to achieve Victory, real energy independence and health care reform, the right to bear arms, the sanctity of life and family values.

Most important, we must elect Conservatives who support the Constitution, as written by our Founding Fathers, not as contrived by Socialists Obama, Reid, Pelosi, former Presidents, Congresses, or the Courts. We must take back our country in 2010 and 2012. We can do it. We must do it to preserve our freedom and way of life and for the sake of our children and grandchildren.

P.S. After President and Mrs. Obama told the American people that they should vacation in the Gulf States to support the people and the economy there, the first family went to Maine. One would think that the Obama's could have spent a few days on the beach in Florida as a show of support for the Gulf states. Once again, actions speak much louder than words, don't they?
