Congressman Charlie Rangel - Just Another Crook

In 2006, when the Socialists regained control of the House of Representatives, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi of San Francisco said boldly that "she was going drain the swamp". Oh really! Since then we have seen corrupt back room deals and out and out bribes to enact Obama's Socialist Schemes; but I guess that doesn't count. But now, we have Socialist Congressman Charlie Rangel charged with 13 counts of ethics violations. Normally, if this was a Republican, the pressure would be so great that resignation would be the end result, but not for a Socialist who has been in Congress for 40 years. 80 year old Rangel intends to fight the charges until he is forced out of Congress. Rangel has been charged with serious tax evasion, misappropriation of campaign funds and using 4 rent controlled apartments in New York City that are supposed to be for primary residency only. In other words, it turns out the Rangel is a big Crook.

What is most interesting is that until recently Charlie Rangel was the Chairman of the tax writing Ways and Means Committee where he always advocated raising taxes on the "rich". Of course, like tax cheat Secretary of the Treasury Tim Geithner, who runs the IRS and was also guilty of failing to pay his taxes, the tax laws just don't apply to these politicians. Though they are all rich, they are not the "rich" who are supposed to pay more to support all of their PEEPS. In fact, there are 287 millionaires in Congress. Some of them like John Kerry, John McCain, Nancy Pelosi, and Diane Feinstein married money. Some of them, mostly Republicans, owned or own successful businesses that made them rich. But then there are the rest of them.

I keep asking the question how does someone like Congressman Charlie Rangel from Harlem in New York City, or Senator Dirty Harry Reid of Nevada become millionaires after 20 or more years in office on a salary of about $170,000 a year when they are required to maintain two homes. The answer should be pretty obvious. They are crooks. I think this is how they do it. In Harry Reid's case, he made money in shady real estate deals with his "friends" in Nevada and some of his family members are paid lobbyists in Washington making millions of dollars.

In Charlie Rangel's case, he had friends making major "contributions" to his campaigns over the years that just happened to end up in his bank accounts. I suspect this happens a lot in Congress with a wink and a nod because how else do these characters end up as millionaires. It is just one of their fringe benefits in addition to huge pensions and medical benefits for life. And I reference bank accounts because old Charlie owned a villa in the Caribbean that he used to earn rental income that was never reported for income tax purposes. You and I would go to jail for these things; but not members of Congress.

Politicians like Socialist Charlie Rangel and Dirty Harry Reid are the poster children making the case for term limits. These characters remain in office so long that they learn how to scam the system to become millionaires. Believe me, I don't begrudge anyone becoming "rich" as long as it happens through hard work, rather than bribery, pay offs and corruption.

We have got to take back our country in 2010 and 2012 to "drain the swamp" of these Socialists by electing Conservatives who support free market capitalism, limited government, lower taxes and less regulation to starve the beast, a balanced budget and an end to deficit spending that is bankrupting our country, TERM LIMITS, a strong national defense including securing our border and fighting Terrorism, real energy independence and health care reform, the right to bear arms, the sanctity of life and family values. This is the winning platform supported by the majority of the American people.

Most important, we must elect Conservatives who support the Constitution, as written by our Founding Fathers, not as contrived by the left wing media, Socialists Obama, Reid, Pelosi, former Presidents, Congresses, or the Courts. We really do need to "drain the swamp" in Washington and take back our country in 2010 and 2012. We can do it. We must do it to preserve our freedoms, our nation and for the sake of our children and grandchildren.
