Venezuela - 21st Century Socialism

Hugo Chavez, the "elected" leader of Venezuela is bringing 21st Century Socialism to that country in an "attempt" to transform the nation. Chavez, the left wing President of Venezuela, speaks of "social duty" and "socialist morality". Chavez has oil money to buy support from the poor in Venezuela, which is the base of his support. In the process and in the name of social justice, Chavez has created an authoritarian regime where the press is controlled, companies and industries are nationalized and opposition politicians are often jailed.

The end result of this "21st Century Socialism" is a lower standard of living in Venezuela for all citizens, make work government jobs, shortages of goods and services, the devaluation of the currency resulting in inflation of over 30%, black outs and rationed electricity. But then this is the story of Socialism where ever and when ever it has been tried in the world. So, this end result should be no surprise to anyone. The fact is that free market capitalism, with all its warts and boom and bust cycles, is the only economic system that has produced real and sustainable growth and prosperity. History is our teacher. It is what it is.

Chavez is a big mouth buffoon who has produced more poverty for his country because nationalized oil production is down so Chavez can no longer buy prosperity for his PEEP's. As a result, Chavez approval rating has fallen from 60% to 43%. Chavez has packed the courts to try to stay in power; but the day will come soon when the only way Chavez will remain in power is by setting aside any semblance of Democracy. Chavez has already tried to manipulate the Venezuelan Constitution to gain greater power. The likelihood is that Chavez will declare some sort of national emergency to deal with the "crisis" as an excuse to set aside the Constitution in order to take complete dictatorial power in Venezuela. We have seen this story before in Latin America and other regions so this sequence is nothing new. Is this all starting to sound familiar?

What is new, is that Socialist President Obama and the Socialists that control Congress are attempting to "transform" the United States into a Socialist nation doing the very same things that are happening in Venezuela. Obama's Trillions in deficit spending will bankrupt our nation and turn the US into a banana republic. If Obama's deficit spending is allowed to continue, we will see the collapse of the dollar and very high interest rates and inflation. Obama will continue to use bail outs to nationalize companies and industries. There are provisions in the financial regulation "reform" bill before Congress, which would allow this to happen. The Obama Administration wants to regulate the Internet to control free speech. HealthScare and CAP & Tax are the biggest expansion of government control over our lives in the history of our nation. Obama is growing government at an alarming rate with more public employee union members as the real goal. Under Obama, in the name of "social justice", more and more Americans will be dependent on the federal government, which is Obama's intent. These are Obama's PEEP's, the 50% of Americans who pay little, or no taxes at all. The real objective is to buy votes by creating more government entitlements just like in Venezuela or Greece.

Shortly, we will see Obama push for some sort of amnesty program for the 12 million illegal aliens in our country that are bankrupting our nation. And, Obama is moving to take over millions of acres of land throughout the West to gain Socialist control over those lands. Finally, Obama makes everything into a "crisis", especially financial and monetary crisis, and often speaks of a new world order and world government and regulation because Obama wants to be President of the World, not just the United States.

This is 21st Century Socialism and if Obama and the Socialists that control Congress are not swept out of office in 2010 and 2012, the United States will cease to be the nation created by our Founding Fathers. Instead, our country will become a Socialist member state probably just one more EURO member. We will lose our freedoms, our monetary system and our national identity. Don't think it can't happen because it has happened in Europe.

To prevent the US from becoming Venezuela, or Greece and controlled by other nations, we must take back our country in 2010 and 2012 by electing Conservatives who support free market capitalism, limited government, lower taxes and less regulation, a balanced budget, term limits, real energy independence and health care reform, a strong national defense, the right to bear arms, the sanctity of life and family values. Most important, we must elect Conservatives that support the Constitution, as written by our Founding Fathers, not as contrived by our current Socialist President, former Presidents, Congresses or the Courts. We can take back our country. We will take back our country in 2010 and 2012 to make Obama a one term President for the sake of our children and grandchildren.
