Time For Common Sense In America

Socialist President Obama has added $5 Trillion to our $16 Trillion National Debt in his first term in office with no end in sight, more than any other President in American history.  And, this does not include all the deficit spending and trillions of dollars in pension liability at both the state and federal levels that is unsustainable.

The United States is heading toward bankruptcy, which if allowed to occur will likely result in a loss of our national sovereignty, civil strife on our streets, a lower standard of living for our people and a loss of our freedom.   We can't let any of this happen.   It is time for Common Sense in America as just occurred in Wisconsin.   If we act NOW, we can prevent economic chaos in our country.   So what do we need to do??

First, we must begin to shrink the size of both the federal and state governments.  At the federal level, we must eliminate 500,000 federal civilian employees out of the current 2.65 million through normal attrition.   We have to get the size of the federal government down from Obama's current 25% of GDP to no more than 17 or 18%.  Using normal attrition, rather than lay offs, will allow this to happen gradually over the next 5 years to allow for a soft landing related to these job losses.   Believe me, we will not miss these federal bureaucrats.

We must also bring compensation and benefits for government employees in line with the private sector for similar jobs.  Paying government workers 40% more than is typical in the private sector is not justifiable, or sustainable.  This means eliminating collective bargaining for public sector employees to get the job done.   It makes no sense for tax payers to provide benefits to public sector employees that we ourselves do not have.

We must make the Bush Tax Cuts permanent, pending real tax reform that lowers all personal income tax rates by getting rid of loop holes and various deductions.   We also need to lower corporate income taxes to no more than 20% to encourage companies to keep jobs in the US rather than send them overseas where tax rates are much lower than our current 35%.   This will spur economic development and job creation in the US creating millions of jobs.

We must implement a 50 Year Energy Plan designed to make the US energy independent.  This means development of our natural resources, oil, oil and gas shale, nuclear, natural gas, clean coal and renewables as they become more economically feasible.  To do so, we must restructure the EPA, away from being a job killer to the Environmental Solutions Agency run by managers committed to economic growth and job creation.   A new ESA should be working to make all energy sources cleaner, cheaper and safer.  A 50 Year Energy Plan will create millions of jobs and billions in tax revenues to help deal with paying off our National Debt.

Entitlements must be reformed.  Since people are living so much longer, the retirement age for full benefits must go to 68 years old for those currently under 50 years old.   Medicare must be further means tested NOW so that Seniors that can afford to pay for their medical insurance do so, even though the rich in particular have already paid for Medicare many times over.     Disability benefits should only go to the mentally, or physically disabled, the original intent, rather than someone with a pain in the neck.  Medicaid should be block granted to the states to cap these expenses.   All of these programs are heading toward bankruptcy.  Failure to do these things will insure that these programs will not survive for those that really need them.

Finally, we must secure our border.   We simply cannot continue to be Mexico's Welfare Program.  Illegal Aliens are costing the states and the federal government, all tax payers, billions of dollars to support education, medical care and the court and penal system all impacted by illegal aliens.   As such, we must stop the flow of both illegal aliens and drugs coming across our border.   Mexico, or more precisely the 38 wealthy families that control Mexico, need to take responsibility for their citizens.   Once the border is secured, we can focus on Immigration Reform related to the 12 million illegal aliens already in the United States.

These are all common sense solutions to dealing with deficit spending and our National Debt; but none of these things will happens as long as Socialists remain in government, which is the reason we must sweep them out of office, at all levels of government in 2012 and 2014.   We must make Obama a one term President to prevent the bankruptcy of the United States.  It is just that simple.  Wisconsin proved that we can do it.   We must do it to preserve our freedom, our nation and way of life for the sake of our children and grandchildren.   This is just Common Sense to get our country back on track.
