The Role of Government - A Battle We Must Win

As much as anything else, the debate during the 2012 and 2014 elections in the United States will be about the role of government.   Since the enactment of the Constitutional Amendment allowing for the federal income tax in 1913, we have seen Socialist creep as so called "Progressives" and even some Republicans have grown government into all aspects of daily life.   President Obama and the Socialists that he leads believes that government has a role to play related to what we do, what we own, what we eat, what we say, what we think, really basically every aspect of daily life.   And, Socialists believe that they have a right to confiscate unlimited amounts of individual wealth in order to redistribute it from those who have studied hard, worked hard, or otherwise earned it to those that either work for government, or who have not studied, or worked hard.  It is really just that simple.

Conservatives, who support the Constitution as written by our Founding Fathers, not as contrived by the left wing media, public employee unions, environmental wackos and all Socialists, believe the role of government should be limited.  Clearly, government's first priority is to provide for the national defense to preserve our freedoms.   Otherwise, government needs to maintain the rule of law and peace and tranquility within our nation in order that we may pursue our God given rights to accomplish the American Dream.  This assumes that those who study and work hard will achieve economic success and that is exactly what has happened for many who came to America with nothing and rose to high status.  Yes, Americans should pay a reasonable amount of taxes to support the well being of our nation and care for those less fortunate and particularly those that are mentally or physically disabled; but that does not include those able to work; but refuse to do so.

Conservatives believe that if you give a man a fish, he eats for a day; but if you teach a man to fish, he eats for a life time.  So we would condition any welfare payments to the able bodied on the requirement for vocational education to learn a skill.  Socialists would prefer to give a man a fish for the rest of his life because once dependent, he will continue to vote for Socialists to stay in power.   This welfare mentality in many cases has destroyed the African American family in the last 60 years, which is a real tragedy.  The majority of African American children today are born out of wed lock; though this trend exists to a lesser degree among all Americans and it has a profound impact on our society.   At the foundation of this social disaster that denigrates the family is the Socialist Nanny State perpetuated by the Socialist lust for power.

Big government is rarely the solution.   It is almost always the problem.  Other than the military, police and fire departments, most government services, programs, or initiatives would be better served by an optional free market solution.  But Socialists will never propose free market solutions that would provide better service at less cost because big government is the basis of their power.  As such, we must take back our country in 2012 and 2014 by electing Conservatives to preserve our freedoms, our nation and way of life for the sake of our children and grandchildren and to prevent the bankruptcy of the United States.   Socialist President Obama is the poster child for a big, intrusive federal government.  As a result, Obama is a threat to our freedoms, our nation and way of life, which is the reason we must make him a one term President in 2012.

The President wants to "transform" America into a European style Socialist nation even though those nations and the United States are facing bankruptcy as a result of tax and spend Socialist Schemes and policies during the last 60 or more years.   We can't let this happen.   We have to take back our country in 2012 and 2014 to restore economic growth and job creation in America.   The debate in 2012 and 2014 is indeed about the role of government.   If we lose this battle, we will lose our freedoms and our nation.  Too much blood has been shed to build and protect this nation on a shining hill and it has become a beacon of freedom for the rest of the world.  This is a battle we must win for future generations and for all peoples of the world.
