The Republicans - Last Chance - On Probation

During the 2010 elections, Republicans gained 63 seats in the House of Representatives giving them a commanding majority. As such, as former Socialist Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, went on and on citing all of the "successes" of the 111th Congress, that cost them the election, she finally turned over the gavel to Republican Speaker of the House John Boehner from Ohio, who will preside over the 112th Congress. During the last three years under Pelosi's leadership, $5 Trillion was added to the National Debt, which was at $9 Trillion three years ago, so that today it is $14 Trillion and growing.

While the Socialists always spoke of "Pay As You Go", they practiced "Go Until You Pay" putting all of the spending for their Socialist Schemes and bail outs on a national credit card payable to the Chinese and others that own our debt. These people, including Pelosi, should be in jail not in Congress for what they have done to our country.

So now the Republicans have taken over the House of Representatives and have also gained 6 more seats in the Senate thanks to the Tea Party Movement. Of course, majority leader Socialist Senator Dirty Harry Reid of Nevada is attempting to end the filibuster rule in the Senate that has been in place for 35 years to disenfranchise the Republicans in the Senate. Hopefully, that effort will not succeed. Either way, the Republicans in the Congress must now make good on their promises. The first order of business, which will happen in the House, is to repeal ObamaCare. That vote is scheduled for January 12th just a few days before Obama's State of the Union Address and will be a slap in the President's face. Obama needs a slap in the face as a reality wake up call.

And, this time around the vote will be bi-partisan as some number of Socialists will vote to repeal ObamaCare along with all Republicans in the House of Representatives. Once done, the bill will go to the Senate and unless there is some parliamentary maneuver that allows it, Dirty Harry will not allow the repeal of ObamaCare to come to a vote because it could very well pass in the Senate, as well. This is all symbolic since if ObamaCare is repealed, the President will veto the bill and there will not be the two thirds necessary in the Senate to over turn Obama's veto. This is just one more reason we must make Obama a one term President in 2012.

The fight to repeal, or defund the beast that is ObamaCare, along with other spending cut battles with the Socialists that are sure to come in the House of Representatives in 2011 is setting the stage for the 2012 elections. The Socialists will not support the hard decisions necessary to prevent the bankruptcy of the United States. It really is that simple. Remember, when the Socialists were totally in control, Obama's 10 year budget forecast assumed both higher taxes and another $10 Trillion in borrowing and debt, assuming the markets would have allowed it to happen, which is doubtful.

The Republicans must JUST SAY NO to all new spending and seriously reduce existing spending. The House of Representatives holds the purse strings as all spending bills must originate in the House. The President can't spend money they don't give him. Obama can veto a budget presented to him; but then that will lead to closing down the government, which would be OK with most Americans. Serious cuts are needed to all programs to balance the budget. Many programs and government departments should be eliminated entirely to close the Trillion dollars plus in deficit spending that is happening now each year. The Republicans are on probation. They have also been big spenders in the past; though never at the levels we have seen with the Socialists in power. Now the Republicans must prove that they will make government smaller, less intrusive and more cost effective.

There would have been no Republican gains in the Congress without the support of the Tea Party Movement. Most in the Tea Party Movement are committed to electing Conservatives in 2012 and 2014 that support free market capitalism, limited government, lower taxes and less regulation, a balanced budget, term limits, real education, energy and health care reform, a strong national defense, including securing our border and fighting Terrorism, the right to bear arms, the sanctity of life and family values that are the foundation of our nation. This is the platform supported by the majority of the American people and the only way to restore economic growth and jobs in our country. The is the platform the Republicans must act on to have the support of the Tea Party Movement in 2012 and 2014 to stay in power.

Most important, the Tea Party Movement is committed to electing Conservatives who will adhere to the Constitution, as written by our Founding Fathers, not as contrived by the left wing media, Socialists in the last 98 years, our current, or former Presidents, Congresses, or the Courts. It is our intention to take back our country in 2012 and 2014 to preserve our freedom, our nation and way of life for the sake of our children and grandchildren. Hopefully, the Republicans got the message. If not, they will be history.
