Rolling Back 97 Years of Socialism

During the last 97 years, the United States has experienced Socialist creep beginning with adding the federal income tax to the US Constitution in 1913. Slowly but surely, the Socialists have worked incrementally to limit our freedoms by growing government at all levels. In fact, local, state and federal governments today consume 40% of our national wealth. 22 million people currently work for various levels of government. This is insane. The average American, the 50% of us that pay taxes, now works 4.8 months to support government employees, program etc. many of which produce poor results.

How is this different than Communism? Enough is enough!! Federal Cabinet Departments and many agencies at all levels of government have been added to control daily life and limit our freedoms. And then, there are all the over lay Czars that are unconstitutional that many Presidents have installed to pay off their friends and supporters. This is just more corruption.

Assuming that many Conservatives are elected on November 2, 2010 and then again in 2012, the day after these elections, we must focus on rolling back 97 years of Socialism in the United States. It is going to be a tough fight in many ways harder than fighting a major war because of all those who are feeding at the trough. To get it done, we must amend the Constitution to include a Balanced Budget Amendment, Term Limits for Congress, Limits on Federal Taxation Authority without approval of two thirds of the state legislatures, and finally amending the 14th Amendment to properly define American citizenship rights.

We have to amend the Constitution because our elected representatives, of both parties, have proven over and again that they cannot be trusted to properly manage our money and represent the interests of WE THE PEOPLE. Once in office, politicians all seem to fall victim to the corruption and intoxication that comes from public employee union and other special interests campaign contributions. As such, to be sure Socialism is rolled back and we achieve limited government, we must take back some of the powers that we have granted our elected representatives.

Once done, we must begin to dismantle many layers of the federal government to achieve limited government as was intended by our Founding Fathers. To do so, we must control the beast by making permanent the Bush Tax Cuts. This will likely lead to greater economic development, so ironically the federal government may end up with more tax revenues. The same would be the case if we brought corporate tax rates down to 20 or 25% to stimulate manufacturing in the United States that is otherwise going overseas.

These new found tax revenues should be used not to add more entitlements; but rather to pay off the $14 Trillion federal debt and deal with the unfunded liabilities of Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid. Most important, we must force the federal government to live within our means and stop the deficit spending that is bankrupting our country and will lead to economic collapse.

To save money, many federal government departments and/or agencies should to be eliminated and/or consolidated. We can start with the Department of Education that is a huge boondoggle. Many government services need to be privatized and outsourced to business to avoid the public employee unions that are bankrupting our country. Be assured, even if the private sector makes a profit implementing government services, private enterprise will do it cheaper and better as a result of competitive bidding and the ability to FIRE poor performers, which almost never happens with union protected government employees.

Those under age 55, should be given the option of at least half their money for Social Security going into private accounts. Politicians of both parties since 1965 have stolen the monies contributed for Social Security benefits again proving that they cannot be trusted with our money. Privatizing at least a portion of Social Security makes sense and will help insure that we don't have continued theft in the future.

Medicare should be privatized through the current Medicare Advantage HMO Program for all seniors to end government involvement in Medicare. Seniors who want a PPO program should pay for it separately, which is already happening through Medigap insurance. This will help eliminate the estimated $70 billion dollars each year in government managed Medicare fraud.

Let's face it. Other than the military, anything the federal government attempts to manage is assuredly mismanaged. i.e. Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, Education, The Post Office, Amtrak, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, Welfare, etc. etc. etc. Oh gosh, all of these government run entities and programs are either bankrupt, or a complete failure and now we face ObamaCare. Are they insane??

Western states in particular that are dominated by the federal government must take back our land. In the extreme, the federal government owns 86% of the state of Nevada. In many other Western states, the federal government owns more than 50% of state land. Most of this land is not designated as national parks; but rather is just open land managed by the Federal Bureau of Land Management. The question is why?

The answer is that left wing Socialists in Washington and their environmental wacko supporters are stopping any kind of development on this land in the name of environmental protection. This is denying Western states badly needed jobs and tax revenues that can come from a diversified economy. Western states are fully capable of managing the land within their borders in an environmentally sound way. We don't need Washington bureaucrats and environmental wacko job killers telling us what we can, or cannot do, with the land within our states. This is a 10th Amendment states right issue.

WE THE PEOPLE have work to do to make all of these things happen. We must start by sweeping these Socialists out of office in 2010 and 2012 and electing rock solid Conservatives, (not RINO's), who support free market capitalism, limited government, lower taxes and less regulation, a balance budget, term limits, real energy independence and health care reform, a strong national defense including securing our border and fighting Terrorism, the right to bear arms, the sanctity of life and family values. This is the platform supported by the majority of the American people and the only way to restore our economy and job creation in our country.

Most important, we must take back our country in 2010 and 2012 by electing Conservatives who support the Constitution, as written by our Founding Fathers, not as contrived by the left wing media, Socialist Obama, Reid, Pelosi, former Presidents, Congresses, or the Courts. We must take back our country. We can do it. We will do it to preserve our freedoms, our nation and way of life and for the sake of our children and grandchildren.
