Russian Dictator Vladamir Putin Is A Fascist

What we are seeing in Russia with Vladamir Putin is a Fascist Dictator.  Though Putin was elected and there technically is a legislature in Russia called the Duma, it is stacked with Putin cronies.   The model that seems to be emerging in Russia is a lot like what occurred in Germany with Adolf Hitler who was also initially elected.   Hitler eventually dissolved the German legislature and took complete dictatorial power.   Based on what we are seeing to date in Russia, don't be surprised if Putin does not follow the same pattern.

After all, he was head of the old KGB, the secret police of the Soviet Union that was no different than the German Gestapo.   And, never, never forget that Socialists, Communists and Fascists will lie, cheat, steal, extort, borrow, target their "enemies" and history teaches us even murder to stay in power feeding at the trough.   We are seeing history repeat itself, this time in the Ukraine.

Putin has already put his "enemies" in Russia in jail just like Hitler.   There is definitely crony capitalism in Russia as Putin rewards his friends and punishes those who speak out against him.   Dictator Putin sees Socialist President Obama as a weakling and a joke.  Putin is now even thumbing his nose at NATO reminding all of us that Russia is a nuclear power and as a result Putin has nothing to fear while attacking the Ukraine.   Putin has even said that he could be in Kiev, the capital of the Ukraine in two weeks if he chose to.  We are seeing a really dangerous situation evolve in the middle of Europe.  The Baltic Countries in particular that are members of NATO are beginning to doubt Obama and Western resolve to protect them in the event of a Russian attack.

The only thing that will stop Putin from miscalculating further is strong action by the United States and NATO.   Obama should immediately order the missile defense system that he unilaterally took out of Poland and the Czech Republic put back into those countries.  We also need more troops and tanks on the ground in all NATO countries surrounding Russia.  And, we must remind Putin that the United States is a nuclear power as well and that any missile fired on countries protected by our nuclear umbrella is an attack on the United States, the same way President Kennedy so stated in the Cuban Missile Crisis.   It is clear that the Putin's of this world only understand raw power.  Sanctions no matter how strict just are not enough.  If we learned no lesson at all from World War II, it should be that appeasement never works.
