Welfare Tops $1 Trillion Under Obama

Federal and State Welfare spending has grown to more than $1 Trillion in 2011 since Socialist President Obama took office.   This is roughly a 32% increase.   This has occurred first because Obama has made it easier to collect various Welfare benefits and because the poverty rate is higher today than when George W Bush was President.  1 in 6 Americans are now living in poverty as a result of Obama's failed economic policies.  Low income families now collect federal and state monies, or benefits from 82 separate program, which include Food Stamps, Welfare, Public Housing and various Tax Credits.   The federal portion of this $1 Trillion has grown from $563 Billion in 2008 to $746 Billion under Obama. 

More is now being spent on the poor than the combined monies being spent on Social Security, Medicare and Non-War Defense.  In bankrupt California, where 20 million people out of 35 million get some kind of government check, there are actually radio ads running, which describe California Fresh, the Food Stamp Program, encouraging more people to apply.   None of this should be any surprise to anyone since there are 23 million Americans either unemployed, under employed working part time that want full time work, or that have just given up looking for work altogether.   Many of these people have switched from unemployment benefits when they ran out, to Disability Benefits, up 1 million to 9 million since Obama took office.   That money comes right out of the Social Security Trust Fund, which is heading toward insolvency. 

Is this the Hope and Change Obama was speaking of when he ran for the Presidency in 2008.  More poverty, more misery and more people on Welfare, dependent on government to buy votes.  Obama said during the most recent Debate that his focus was the 47% of Americans, those with so little income that they don't pay federal income taxes.   The fact that Obama's failed economic plan is the reason at least some of these people are in that 47% is lost on this out of touch Socialist President.  Obama is the Welfare, Food Stamp President.   While there were chantey town referred to as Hoovervilles, during the Great Depression.  Today, there are Obamavilles in all of our major cities where the poor live and barely get by.  Many of the people living in the slums of most major cities are there because 100 years of Socialist Creep has made them dependent on government and they just can't break the chains of poverty.  

The economy is a mess and it hits the poor, women and the young worst.   Unemployment in the Black and Hispanic communities is much higher than the national average.  50% of college graduates cannot find decent jobs.  None of this will change as long was we continue the dismal GDP growth we have experienced while Obama has been President.   Obama has no plan to restore respect for our country around the world, economic growth and job creation again in America.   Raising taxes on families earning more than $250,000 a year, many of them small businesses, to waste even more money on government, certainly will not revive our economy.  In fact, it is a road to Depression, not just Recession.      

While Obamanistas may love that fact that more than $1 Trillion is being spent on their PEEP's, it is a national disgrace and disaster caused by 100 years of Socialist Creep that has actually hurt the poor in America.  It has to stop.   We have to make Obama a one term President and sweep his Socialist pals at levels of government out of office in 2012 and 2014 to get our country back on track and prevent the bankruptcy of our nation.  We must elect Mitt Romney, the next President of the United States and gain Republican control of both Houses of Congress to restore respect for our country around the world, economic growth and job creation again in America.  It will not happen any other way.

We can do it.   We must do it to preserve our freedom, our nation and way of life to help the poor and for the sake of our children and grandchildren.  Welfare Spending up 32% as a result of Obama's failed policies is  unacceptable.  Obama has to go on November 6.
