The US Constitution - A Remarkable Document

The United States Constitution is remarkable and remains the longest standing governing document ever devised in human history. Remember, the 10 Commandments came from God. The Constitution can be read in less than an hour and yet within those words are the lessons of freedom that have allowed our country to grow into the greatest nation on earth. It is amazing that our Founding Fathers, led by James Madison, usually credited with being the author of the Constitution, were able to construct a governing document that would not only stand the test of time, it would establish a nation with checks and balances of power to mitigate the human tendencies to abuse power, or so they thought.

Our Founding Fathers fully understood the abuse of power that came from being ruled by a King, with self described divine right; yet today we have an imperial Presidency. They fought against taxation without representation during the revolutionary war; but now we have taxes of all kinds without a vote of the people. They feared the power of an over reaching central government, which is the reason they actually divested most power to the states. Our Founding Fathers got it right; yet somehow our elected leaders in the last 97 years forgot those lessons working instead to create a federal government today that intrudes into all aspects of our lives.

Let's face it. Today, everything we do, buy, or eat is regulated, or taxed by local, state or federal governments and some times by all three. This has occurred since enactment of the 16th Amendment of the US Constitution, in 1913, by Socialists, which allowed for a federal income tax. Since that time, in the last 97 years, we have seen the federal government grow into the beast it is today to the demise of our Freedoms. Our Founding Fathers, in their wildest dreams, could never have imagined not only the growth of the federal government, which was never their intention, but the reach of the federal government and all other levels of government into our daily lives. The reality is that we are no longer a free people.

Aside from the local, state and federal taxes, fees and licenses we all pay, which far exceed anything ever imagined by our Founding Fathers, the regulations we face on millions of pages of law at every level of government, would surely cause our Founding Fathers to turn over in their graves. Their goal in writing the Constitution, was limited government, not the limitless government we have today. What we have now is Government Gone Wild, requiring a subservient people to work several months each year to support bureaucrats and politicians living off the fat of the land.

During the election campaign in 2010, Socialist President Obama actually told us to "shut up" and "sit in the back of the bus". During my life time, I do not recall any elected official being so candid about the role of the American people, but to his credit, Obama was just being honest as a member of the Socialist ruling class. Socialists all think that the American people should just Shut Up as they confiscate our our money and attempt to rule our lives in the name of the common good.

In 2010 instead, the American people stood up and said HELL NO. We will not shut up, or sit in the back of the bus ever again. WE THE PEOPLE intend to take back some of the power that we granted our elected representatives because they have proven over and again that they cannot be trusted to protect our interests. We have to finish the work of our Founding Fathers by adding various Constitutional Amendments requiring a balanced budget, term limits for members of Congress, restrictions on taxing authority and the definition of American citizenship. These Amendments are necessary to end the abuse of power that we have today that is bankrupting our country.

Of course, the Socialists will never willingly give up power, which is one more reason we must sweep them out of office in 2012 and 2014 by electing Conservatives who support free market capitalism, limited government, lower taxes and less regulation, a balanced budget, term limits, real education, energy and health care reform, a strong national defense, including securing our border and fighting Terrorism, the right to bear arms, the sanctity of life and family values that are the foundation of our nation. This is the winning platform supported by the American people and the only way to restore economic growth and jobs in our country. And, if our Founding Fathers were alive today, seeing what our elected representatives in the last 97 years, have done outside the scope of their master piece, the US Constitution, I feel certain they would tell us to take back the power that has been usurped over the years by our elected representatives. We have to do it to save our nation.

Most important, our Founding Fathers would encourage us to elect Conservatives in 2012 and 2014 that will adhere to the Constitution, that they wrote, rather than the one contrived by the left wing media, Socialists, former Presidents, Congresses, or the Courts in the last 97 years. We must take back our country, the one devised by our Founding Fathers. We can do it. We must do it to preserve our freedom, our nation and way of life for the sake of our children and grandchildren. Our Founding Fathers, who fought a revolution to gain that freedom, would expect us to act to preserve that freedom.

  1. In the awesome scheme of things you’ll receive an A just for hard work. Exactly where you misplaced me was on your details. As people say, details make or break the argument.. And it couldn’t be more accurate right here. Having said that, permit me reveal to you what exactly did work. The writing can be really convincing which is possibly why I am taking an effort to comment. I do not really make it a regular habit of doing that. Secondly, despite the fact that I can certainly notice the leaps in logic you make, I am not confident of how you seem to connect the details which in turn produce the actual final result. For the moment I will, no doubt yield to your point but wish in the near future you link the facts much better. https://www.eliaandponto.com/michigan-auto-accident-lawyer/
